21-42. Candidates must be born between 02.01.1979 and 01.01.2000 (both dates included). [Including general conditions paragraph 2(i) relaxations]. Note: The upper age limit shall in no case exceed 50 (fifty) years.

i) Ability to write and read Malayalam or Tamil or Kannada. ii) Must possess a current Motor Driving License for Heavy Duty Vehicles and Motor Cycles and 3 years experience in driving Heavy Duty Vehicles (Military or Civil). Candidates who have obtained driving license after 16.01.1979 must have an endorsement for driving Heavy Goods and Heavy Passenger vehicles. Applications with only one of these will be rejected. See 47/78 amendment of Motor Vehicles Act. Note: Proficiency in driving Heavy Duty Vehicles must be proved by a practical test (including T Test) conducted by the PSC. Only those who pass the T Test in the ground test will be allowed to participate in the road test. iii) Physical Qualifications: (a) Ear: Must have perfect hearing. (b) Eye: Right Eye (Distant Vision: 6/6 Snellen, Near Vision: 0.5 Snellen), Left Eye (Distant Vision: 6/6 Snellen, Near Vision: 0.5 Snellen). Colour vision: Should be normal. Night blindness: Should not have. (c) Muscles and Joints: No paralysis. All joints must be capable of moving without strain. (d) Nervous System: Must be perfectly normal. No infectious diseases.

1) Candidates must be willing to clean and oil motor vehicles. This should be recorded in the qualification column of the application. 2) Selected candidates must be capable of driving Light Duty Vehicles as well. 3) Differently abled candidates are not eligible to apply for this post. 4) Candidates must record full details regarding driving license and driving experience in the application. 5) If the number of applicants is very high, a written test (OMR/Online) will be conducted before the practical test. 6) Medical fitness certificate (original) from a Medical Officer not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon and vision certificate from a Government Ophthalmologist must be produced when called for the practical test. 7) Driving experience certificate must show date of entry into service, date of discharge, and type of vehicle. If currently in service, this should also be recorded. 8) Candidates will be recommended for appointment from the rank list according to turn. 9) Candidates must possess a valid driving license and badge at all stages of selection (last date of application, OMR test, practical test, and interview). Probation: Those appointed to this post will be on probation for a period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years.
