21-44, Candidates born between 02.01.1979 and 01.01.2002 (both dates included) are eligible to apply. (Other conditions regarding age relaxation are as per Part II of the General Conditions).

i) Must be able to read and write Malayalam or Tamil. ii) Must possess a valid Motor Driving License for Heavy Duty Vehicles (HDV) and 3 years experience in driving Heavy Duty Vehicles (Military or Civil). Probation: Those appointed to this post will be on probation for a period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years from the date of joining duty. Note: 1) Candidates who obtained the driving license after 16.01.1979 must have an endorsement for driving both Heavy Goods and Heavy Passenger vehicles. Applications without this will be summarily rejected. 2) Proficiency in driving Heavy Duty Vehicles must be proved by a practical test (T Test and Road Test) conducted by the PSC. Only those who pass the T Test will be allowed to participate in the Road Test. 3) KS & SSR Rule 10 (a) ii is applicable. 4) Higher qualifications or equivalent qualifications recognized by Government orders will be accepted. Government orders regarding equivalent/higher qualifications must be produced when required by the Commission. iii) Physical Qualifications: (a) Ear: Must have perfect hearing. (b) Eye: Right Eye - Distant Vision 6/6 Snellen, Near Vision 0.5 Snellen; Left Eye - Distant Vision 6/6 Snellen, Near Vision 0.5 Snellen. Colour Vision: Normal. Night Blindness: Should not have. (c) Muscles and Joints: No paralysis. All joints must be movable without difficulty. (d) Nervous System: Must be perfectly normal and free from any infectious diseases. iv) Candidates must be Ex-servicemen or have served in the Territorial Army (Discharge Certificate, Pension Payment Order must be produced when required). v) Candidates claiming experience must produce an experience certificate in the prescribed format and upload it along with the application. Original certificate must be produced when required by the Commission.

1) Candidates must be willing to clean and oil motor vehicles. This should be recorded in the qualification column of the application. 2) Selected candidates must have the ability to drive Light Duty Vehicles as well. 3) Differently abled candidates are not eligible to apply for this post. 4) Candidates must record full details regarding driving license and experience in the application. 5) If the number of applicants is high, a written test/OMR/online test will be conducted prior to the practical test. 6) At the time of the practical test, candidates must produce a medical fitness certificate (excluding iii(b)) from a Medical Officer not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon. For eyesight, a medical certificate from an Ophthalmologist in Government Service must be produced. 7) The experience certificate must show the date of joining service, date of leaving service, type of vehicle, etc. If currently in service, this should also be recorded. 8) Appointment will be made from the rank list prepared as per this notification based on district-wise vacancies. 9) Candidates must possess a valid driving license and badge at all stages of selection (last date of application, OMR test, practical test, and interview).
