Direct Recruitment (from among Ex-servicemen belonging to the reserved communities mentioned above only).

1) 21-42. Only candidates born between 02.01.1980 and 01.01.2001 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post (including the relaxations in Para 2(i) of the General Conditions) [For Muslim candidates]. 2) 21-44. Only candidates born between 02.01.1978 and 01.01.2001 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post (including the relaxations in Para 2(i) of the General Conditions) [For SC candidates]. Note:- Breakthrough upper age limit of 50 (Fifty) years shall be strictly applicable under any circumstances to the upper age limit subject to the conditions mentioned in Part II of the General Conditions (Para 2).

i) Must be able to read and write in Malayalam or Tamil or Kannada. ii) Must possess current Motor Driving Licence for Heavy Duty Vehicles and Motor Cycle with 3 years experience of driving Heavy Duty Vehicles (Military or Civil) acquired after obtaining the Driving Licence. Candidates whose licence has 'Heavy Goods' and 'Heavy Passenger' endorsements issued after 16.01.1979 will alone be considered. (See the amendment given in Motor Vehicles Act 47/78). Note:- Proficiency in driving Heavy Duty Vehicles shall be tested by a practical test including T-Test conducted by PSC. Those who pass T-Test will alone be allowed to attend Road Test. iii) Physical Fitness: (a) Ear: Hearing power should be perfect. (b) Eye: Right Eye: Left Eye: Distant Vision: 6/6 snellen 6/6 snellen Near Vision: 0.5 snellen 0.5 snellen Field of vision: Must have full field of vision for each eye. Colour Vision: Normal. Night blindness: Absent. (c) Muscles and Joints: No paralysis and all joints with free movements. (d) Nervous System: Perfectly normal and free from any infectious diseases. iv) Candidates must be Ex-Servicemen or persons serving in the Defence Service (attested true copies of Discharge Certificate and Pension Payment Order should be produced when called for).

1. Probation: Every person appointed to the post shall from the date on which he joins duty be on probation for a total period of 2 years on duty within a continuous period of 3 years. 2. Differently abled candidates are not eligible to apply for this post. 3. Candidates must be prepared to clean motor vehicles and grease them. 4. Selected candidates must have the capability to drive light duty vehicles also.
