Direct Recruitment. (Only from Ex-Servicemen belonging to Scheduled Caste reservation community). In the absence of Ex-Servicemen belonging to SC community, Ex-Servicemen belonging to ST community will also be considered.

21-44. Candidates must be born between 02.01.1979 and 01.01.2002 (both dates included). [Including relaxation in General Conditions para 2(i)]. Note: The upper age limit shall not exceed 50 years under any circumstances, subject to the special concessions allowed in Part II of this notification (para 2).

(i) Ability to read and write in Malayalam or Tamil or Kannada. (ii) Must possess a valid Motor Driving License for Heavy Duty Vehicles (HDV) and 3 years experience in driving Heavy Duty Vehicles (Military or Civil). Candidates who have obtained the driving license after 16.01.1979 must have an endorsement for driving both Heavy Goods and Heavy Passenger vehicles. Applications of those who possess only one of these will be summarily rejected. See amendment 47/78 to the Motor Vehicles Act. 1. Proficiency in driving Heavy Duty Vehicles must be proved in a practical test (including T Test and Road Test) conducted by the PSC. Only those who pass the T Test will be allowed to participate in the Road Test. 2. KS & SSR Rule 10 (a) ii is applicable. 3. In addition to the qualifications prescribed in this notification, higher qualifications which are accepted as equivalent to the prescribed qualification by executive orders or standing orders of the Government will be accepted. Government orders regarding equivalent/higher qualifications must be produced when required by the Commission. (iii) Physical Qualifications: (a) Ear: Must have perfect hearing. (b) Eye: Right Eye (6/6 Snellen), Left Eye (6/6 Snellen). Near Vision: 0.5 Snellen for both. Colour Vision: Normal. Night Blindness: Should not have. (c) Muscles and Joints: Should not have paralysis. All joints must be capable of moving without strain. (d) Nervous System: Must be completely normal. Should not have any infectious diseases. (iv) Candidates must be Ex-Servicemen or those who have served in the Territorial Army (Self-attested copies of Discharge Certificate and Pension Payment Order must be produced when required).

1. Candidates must be willing to clean and oil heavy duty vehicles. This should be recorded in the qualification column of the application. 2. Selected candidates must have the ability to drive Light Duty Vehicles as well. 3. Differently abled candidates are not eligible to apply for this post. 4. Candidates must record full details regarding driving license and driving experience in the application column. 5. If the number of applications is very high, a written test/OMR/online test will be conducted before the practical test. 6. When called for the practical test, a medical fitness certificate (original) in the prescribed format (excluding iii(b)) must be obtained from a Medical Officer not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon. Additionally, a medical certificate regarding vision as per para 7(iii)(b) must be obtained from an Ophthalmologist in Government Service. The medical certificate format is attached with this notification. 7. The date of entry into service, date of discharge from service, and type of vehicle must be shown in the experience certificate. If currently in service, that information should also be recorded. 8. Appointments will be made from the rank list prepared as per this notification based on district-wise vacancies. 9. Candidates must possess a valid driving license and badge at all stages of selection, i.e., on the last date of application, OMR test, practical test, and interview. Probation: Those appointed to this post will be on probation for a period of two years of duty within a continuous period of three years from the date of joining.
