21-39. Candidates born between 02.01.1984 and 01.01.2002 (both dates included) are eligible to apply. Usual age relaxation is applicable to SC/ST, OBC, and other backward communities. Refer to Part II of the Gazette notification for general conditions (Clause 2). Note: In no case shall the maximum age limit exceed 50 years.

i) Ability to write and speak in Malayalam or Tamil. ii) Must possess a valid Motor Driving License for Heavy Duty Vehicles (HDV) and 3 years experience in driving Heavy Duty Vehicles (Military or Civil). Candidates who have obtained the driving license after 16.01.1979 must have an endorsement for driving Heavy Goods and Heavy Passenger vehicles. Applications without this will be summarily rejected. See Motor Vehicles Act 47/78. iii) Physical Qualifications: (a) Physique: Must have full hearing capacity. (b) Eye: Distant vision 6/6 snellen, Near vision 0.5 snellen, Colour vision: Normal, Night blindness: Should not have. (c) Muscles and Joints: No paralysis. All joints must be capable of free movement. (d) Nervous System: Perfectly normal. No infectious diseases. iv) Candidates must be Ex-servicemen or have served in the Territorial Army (Self-attested copies of Discharge Certificate and Pension Payment Order must be produced when required).

1) Candidates must be willing to clean and oil motor vehicles. This should be recorded in the qualification column of the application. 2) Selected candidates must be capable of driving Light Duty Vehicles as well. 3) Differently abled candidates are not eligible for this post. 4) Candidates must record full details regarding driving license and experience in the application column. 5) If the number of applications is large, a written test (OMR/Online) will be conducted prior to the practical test. 6) Medical fitness certificate (as per format) from a Medical Officer not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon and vision certificate from an Ophthalmologist in Government Service must be produced when called for the practical test. 7) Service details (date of joining, date of leaving, type of vehicle) must be shown in the experience certificate. 8) Candidates will be advised for appointment from the rank list in order of turn. 9) Candidates must possess a valid driving license and badge at all stages of selection (at the time of application, OMR/Online test, practical test, and interview). Probation: Two years of probation within a continuous period of three years from the date of joining.
