Direct Recruitment (From Ex-servicemen belonging to Scheduled Caste community only).

21-44. Candidates born between 02.01.1978 and 01.01.2001 (both dates included) are eligible to apply. [Including the relaxations in Para 2(i) of the General Conditions]. Note: The maximum age limit shall not exceed 50 years.

i) Ability to write and read Malayalam or Tamil or Kannada. ii) Must possess a current Motor Driving License for Heavy Duty Vehicles and Motor Cycles and must have 3 years experience in driving Heavy Duty Vehicles (Military or Civil). Candidates who have obtained Driving License after 16.01.1979 must have endorsement for driving both Heavy Goods and Heavy Passenger vehicles. Candidates possessing only one of these will be summarily rejected. (See amendment 47/78 to Motor Vehicles Act). iii) Physical Qualifications: (a) Ear: Perfect hearing. (b) Eye: Distant vision 6/6 snellen, Near vision 0.5 snellen for both eyes. Colour vision should be normal. Night blindness should not be present. (c) Muscles: No paralysis. All joints must be capable of free movement. (d) Nervous system: Should be perfectly normal and free from any infectious diseases. iv) Candidates must be Ex-servicemen or those who have served in the Territorial Army (Self-attested copies of Discharge Certificate and Pension Payment Order must be produced when required).

1. Candidates must be willing to clean and oil motor vehicles. This should be recorded in the qualification column of the application. 2. Selected candidates must be capable of driving Light Duty Vehicles as well. 3. Differently abled candidates are not eligible to apply. 4. Candidates must record full details regarding driving license and experience in the application. 5. If the number of applications is very high, an OMR/Online test may be conducted before the practical test. 6. For the practical test, a medical fitness certificate (excluding vision) in the prescribed format from a Medical Officer not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon must be produced. Additionally, a medical certificate regarding vision from an Ophthalmologist in Government Service must be produced. 7. Date of entry into service, date of discharge, and type of vehicle must be shown in the experience certificate. If currently in service, this should also be recorded. 8. Candidates will be advised for appointment from the rank list prepared as per this notification in order of turn. 9. Candidates must possess a valid driving license and badge at all stages of selection, i.e., on the last date of application, OMR test, practical test, and interview. 10. Probation: Candidates appointed to this post will be on probation for a period of two years of duty within a continuous period of three years from the date of joining.
