18-43. Candidates born between 02.01.1980 and 01.01.2005 (both dates included) are eligible to apply. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste who converted to Christianity and their children are eligible for upper age relaxation up to 45 years (born between 02.01.1978 and 01.01.2005). (Including general age relaxation as per rules). Note: In no case shall the maximum age limit exceed 50 years.

1) Pass in SSLC examination conducted by the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Kerala or its equivalent. OR Pass in Pre-degree examination conducted by any of the Universities in Kerala or any examination recognized by any such Universities in Kerala as equivalent to Pre-degree examination. OR Pass in Higher Secondary examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examinations, Kerala or any other examination recognized by Government as equivalent thereto. 2) Pass in TTC examination conducted by the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Kerala. Note: D.Ed (Diploma in Teacher Education) and D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education) are considered equivalent to TTC as per G.O(RT) No.3280/13/G.Edn dated 05.08.2013, G.O(RT) No.1700/18/G.Edn dated 05.05.2018, and G.O(RT) No.2009/18/G.Edn dated 30.05.2018. 3) Must have passed the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K-TET) for this post conducted by the Government of Kerala. Exemption: 1. Candidates who have acquired CTET/NET/SET/M.Phil/Ph.D in the relevant subject or M.Ed degree are exempted from acquiring K-TET qualification (G.O. (P) No. 145/16/G.Edn. dated 30.08.2016, G.O. (P) No. 206/16/G.Edn. dated 08.12.2016, G.O. (P) No. 15/2020/G.Edn. dated 09.10.2020). 2. As per the government circular dated 09.03.2018 (1866829/J3/2017/G.Edn), CTET Primary Stage is accepted for KTET Category I and CTET Elementary Stage is accepted for KTET Category II. CTET is not accepted for KTET Category III and IV.

i) M.Phil degree in the relevant subject should be from a recognized University in Kerala or equivalent. ii) Candidates who have not studied Malayalam in Part I or Part II of SSLC or whose medium of instruction is not Malayalam are not eligible for appointment. iii) B.Ed is not accepted in lieu of TTC. iv) If a written/OMR test is conducted, the question paper will be in Malayalam. Answers must be written in Malayalam. v) KS & SSR Part II Rule 10 (a) ii is applicable. vi) Higher qualifications than those prescribed in the notification will be accepted if they are recognized by the government as equivalent to the prescribed qualification.
