18-45. Candidates must be born between 02.01.1977 and 01.01.2004 (both dates included). In the absence of qualified candidates within the specified age limit, relaxation up to 50 years is allowed. However, the upper age limit shall not exceed 50 years under any circumstances.

1) Pass in SSLC examination conducted by the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Kerala or its equivalent. OR Pass in Pre-degree examination conducted by any of the Universities in Kerala or its equivalent. OR Pass in Higher Secondary examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examinations, Kerala or its equivalent. 2) Must have passed the TTC examination conducted by the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Kerala. 3) Must have passed the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K-TET) for this post conducted by the Government of Kerala. Exemption: Candidates who have acquired CTET/NET/SET/M.Phil/Ph.D/M.Ed are exempted from acquiring K-TET qualification (G.O. (P) No. 145/16/G.Edn. dated 30.08.2016, G.O. (P) No. 206/16/G.Edn. dated 08.12.2016).

(i) The rank list prepared in pursuance of this notification shall remain in force for a minimum period of one year and a maximum period of three years. If a new rank list is published for the same district after one year, the current list will cease to be in force. Appointments will be made from the list during its validity. If no one is advised from the list within three years, the validity of the list will be extended for one more year or until at least one person is selected for appointment, whichever is earlier. (ii) Selection is district-wise as per G.O.(MS) No. 154/71/PD dated 27.05.1971. Candidates appointed cannot be transferred to another district for five years from the date of joining. After five years, transfer is subject to G.O.(MS) No. 4/61/PD dated 02.01.1961. Candidates already in service in the same post in any district are not eligible to apply. (iii) If the caste mentioned in the SSLC book differs from the caste claimed in the application, a gazette notification and a caste certificate from the Revenue Authority must be produced at the time of verification. (iv) Applications from candidates not belonging to Scheduled Tribes will be rejected without notice. (v) M.Phil qualification must be from a recognized university in Kerala or equivalent. (vi) B.Ed is not accepted in lieu of TTC. (vii) Candidates who have not studied Malayalam in Part I or Part II of SSLC or whose medium of instruction is not Malayalam are not eligible. However, candidates who have studied Malayalam as a language in Degree/Post Graduate/Teacher Training levels through regular courses in Kerala are eligible (G.O.(Rt) No. 67/2018/G.Edn dated 22.05.2018). (viii) If there is a written test, the question paper will be in Malayalam. Answers must be written in Malayalam. OMR answer sheets must be marked as per instructions. (ix) Rule 10 a (ii) of KS & SSR Part II is applicable. (x) Candidates claiming equivalent qualifications must produce the government order proving equivalency at the time of verification. (xi) Special concessions for wives of Jawan/Scouts/Guides/Laboratory Attendants are applicable as per government orders. (xii) Candidates must upload a photo taken after 31.12.2012 with name and date of photo clearly marked at the bottom. The photo is valid for 10 years. (xiii) No application fee. (xiv) Candidates must provide Aadhaar card details in their profile. (xv) Confirmation for written/OMR/online test is mandatory. Failure to provide confirmation will lead to rejection of application. Admit cards will be available 15 days before the exam date.
