19-36, Candidates born between 02.01.1985 and 01.01.2002 (both dates included) only are eligible to apply for this post. Note:- (i) In the absence of qualified candidates within the age limit the upper age limit shall be relaxed upto 50 years. But in no case the maximum age limit shall exceed 50 (Fifty) years.

(1) Educational Qualification: Must have passed the Plus Two examination or its equivalent Note:- (a) KS & SSR Part II Rule 10(a) ii is applicable to this selection. (b) Candidates who claim equivalent qualification shall produce the relevant Government order to prove the claim at the time of One Time verification or as required by the commission. (c) If the community claim in the application differs from the community noted in the SSLC book, then such changes are to be published in the gazette on or before the date of verification of original documents and the same should be produced along with the Caste Certificate issued by the Revenue authorities at the time of One Time Verification or as and when required by the commission. (2) Physical Qualifications: (i) Height : A minimum of 160cm. (ii) Chest : A minimum of 76 cm and with a minimum expansion of 5 cm. (3) Physique and Eye Sight 1. Must be certified by a Medical Officer not below the rank of an Assistant Surgeon as to his physique fitness and capacity for active outdoor work. The Medical Certificate has to be produced as and when called for. 2. Must be certified to possess the visual standards specified below without glasses. Colour blindness, squint or any morbid conditions of the eye or lids of either eye will be deemed to be a disqualification. (ii) Must be free from apparent physical defects like knock-knee, flat foot, Varicose vein, bow legs, deformed hands & limbs, irregular and protruding tooth, defective speech and hearing. Candidates should produce a Medical Certificate in original in the form prescribed hereunder certifying to their physical fitness and eye sight without glass at the time of Physical Efficiency Test/Endurance Test. Medical Certificate should be one obtained from a Medical Officer Under the Government not below the rank of an Assistant Surgeon/Junior Consultant. This Medical Certificate shall be uploaded in the profile of the candidate and the original shall be produced at the time of certificate verification. (4) Physical Efficiency Test Candidates must qualify in any Five (5) events out of the eight events specified below of the National Physical Efficiency, One Star Standard Test. Note: - Physical measurement of candidates will be taken prior to the physical efficiency test and those who do not possess the prescribed physical measurement at that time will not be admitted for the physical efficiency test/Endurance Test. If accidents or injuries happen to a candidate while participating in the Physical Efficiency Test/Endurance Test , he will not be given further chance to participate in the test. (5) Endurance Test: Candidates must have succesfully qualified the endurance test of 2.5 kms run within 13 minutes.

Note: (i) The Name, Educational qualification and age for this post is notified as per G.O.(P)No.264/10/TD dated 10.11.2010 (SRO 1025/10), G.O.(P)No.178/2015/TD dated 03.10.2015 (SRO No. 669/15), G.O.(MS)No.192/2012/TD dated 09.10.2012 and G.O.(Ordinary)No.766/2018/TD dated 21.10.2018. (ii) The above vacancy is now in existence. The Ranked List will be prepared for Thrissur District in pursuance of the Notification. The Ranked List thus published by the Commission shall cease to be in force after one year from the date of finalisation of the Ranked List. Recruitment will be made for the above vacancies and also for the vacancies reported for Special Recruitment from candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes, during the currency of the list. (iii) The selection in pursuance of this notification will be made on a revenue district basis, subject to the special conditions laid down in G.O.(MS)No.154/71/PD dated 27.05.1971. A candidate advised for appointment in one revenue district from the Ranked List prepared is not eligible for transfer to another district unless he completes 5 years continuous service from the date of commencement of service in the former district. Even if transfer is allowed after five years, it will be subject to the rules in G.O.(MS)No.4/61/PD dated 02/01/1961. (iv) Candidates already in Government service holding this post in any one district are prohibited from applying again for this post, but they can apply to higher posts when notified. (v) In the case of Direct Recruitment preference shall be given to Ex-Servicemen. NCC cadets having “A”, “B” & “C” Certificates will be given weightage marks at the rate of 2%, 3%, and 5% respectively. (vi) Civil Excise Officer (Trainee) shall not be appointed in the substantive post till the successful completion of basic training for a period of not less than six months, subject to the minimum of 180 working days as may be decided by the Commissioner of Excise. Persons undergoing basic training shall be paid stipend as may be fixed by the Government from time to time. All the persons who did not undergo basic training will be placed under orders of training within a period of two years and those who did not successful complete the basic training shall not be considered for future promotion.
