Anticipated Vacancy (Unitwise) Thiruvananthpauram, Thrissur and Kannur Units Unit III - Thiruvananthapuram unit This unit includes Alappuzha , Pathanamthitta, Kollam & Thiruvananthapuram Unit II - Thrissur unit This Unit includes Kottayam, Idukki, Eranakulam and Thrissur districts. Unit I -Kannur Unit This Unit includes Palakkad , Malappuram , Kozhikode, Kannur , Wayanad and Kasaragod districts.

1. By transfer from male warders having prescribed qualification.

18-50. Born between 02.01.1963 and 01.01.1995 (both dates included)

1 Pass in SSLC or its equivalent qualification 2 Physical fitness as specified below:- a) Must be atleast 165 cm height and Must be 81.3cms round the chest on full expiration and must have chest expansion of at least 5 cms Note:-A height of 160 cms will be sufficient for the candidates belonging to SC and ST. 3 Physical Efficiency Test: Should qualify in at least five out of the following eight items. i) 100 meters run : 14 seconds ii) High jump : 132.20cms (4'6”) iii) Long jump : 457.20cms(15') iv) Putting the shot 7264 gram : 609.60cms(20') v) Throwing cricket ball : 6096cm(200') vi) Rope climbing : 365.80cms (12') vii) Pull up or chinning : 8 times viii) 1500 metres run : 5 min & 44 sec 4 Eye sight: Must be certified to possess the visual standards specified below without glassess (Medical certificate regarding eye sight from an Ophthalmologist in Government Service should be produced when called for). Right eye Left eye a) Distant vision 6/6 snellen 6/6snellen b) Near vision 0.5 snellen 0.5snellen c) Each Eye must have full field of vision . Colour Blindness, squint or any morbid condition of the eyes or lids of either eye will be deemed to be a disqualification. 5 Must be free from apparent physical defects like knock knee, flat foot, varicose veins, bow legs, deformed limbs, irregular and protruding teeth, defective speech and hearing. 6. Should possess a current Heavy passenger vehicle/Heavy goods vehicle Driving Licence with badge. Note: 1.Possession of Licence for driving Motor cycle shall be a desirable qualification. 2. Should possess current Driving License on entire stage of selection.

(i) 50% of the vacancies shall be filled up from this category (ii) Women and physically handicapped persons are not eligible to apply for this post. (iii) Conventional type applications will be summarily rejected. Candidates shall apply only through online application available at the Kerala Public Service Commission website. (iv) Separate Ranked list will be prepared for Direct recruitment and By transfer recruitment for each unit in pursuance of this notification. The Ranked Lists thus prepared and published by the Commission, shall remain in force for a minimum period of one year, subject to the condition that the said lists will continue to be in force till the publication of new list after the expiry of the minimum period of one year or till the expiry of three years whichever is earlier. Candidates will be advised for appointment against the aforesaid vacancies and also against the vacancies, if any, reported during the currency of the lists. In case no candidate is advised from the ranked list till the expiry of the period of three years, the duration of the Ranked List shall be extended for a further period of one year or till at least one candidate is advised from the list whichever is earlier. 50% of the vacancies of the post shall be filled up by direct recruitment and 50% by transfer in the ratio of 1:1. In the absence of qualified candidates under item 2 above those vacancies shall also be filled up by direct recruitment. Application should not be sent for selection to the post to more than one unit in response to this notification . If application are sent contrary to the above direction and if he is selected his name will be removed from Rank List and disciplinary action will be taken against him . Candidate should note the name of the unit in the relevant column of application. (v) Candidate should submit separate online application for Direct recruitment and By transfer recruitment. (vi) Candidates who submit application for By transfer recruitment should furnish a Service Certificate in original obtained from their head of office at the time of application as and when required by the commission. (vii) The selection in pursuance of the notification will be made on a Unit basis, subject to the special conditions laid down in G.O. (MS) No.92/80/Home dated 24.09.1980. A candidate advised for appointment in one unit from the ranked list prepared is not eligible for transfer to another unit. Even if transfer is allowed after 5 years, it will be subject to the rules in GO(MS)No.4/61/PD dated, 02.01.1961. Candidates already in Government Service holding this post in any one unit are prohibited from applying again for this post, but they can apply to higher posts when notified. (viii) The recruitment of Warder Driver in the Jail Department is being done on unitwise, a candidate thus appointed in Trivandrum / Thrissur/ Kannur unit is bound to serve in any of the constitutions under the Jurisdiction of respective unit. Male Wardens from Jail Dept who apply under this category are exempted from the minimum General Educational qualification of pass in SSLC and also from the maximum age limit prescribed for the post. Candidate who are eligible to apply for both Direct Recruitment and Recruitment by transfer need not select the same unit for both categories. But they should submit seperate applications for each category even if they selected the same unit candidates who are included in both lists and advised from any one the lists shall be deleted from the other lists. Note: Appointment by transfer and by direct recruitment shall be made in the ration 1:1. In the absence of qualified candidates under By transfer category those vacancies shall also be filled up by direct recruitment.
