Kannur Unit - LC/AI – 1 (One) (This Unit includes Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod Districts) Note: The above vacancy is now in existence. The Ranked List published as per this notification will be valid until a candidate is advised and appointed against the vacancies earmarked for the above mentioned community, but remain unfilled and also against vacancies that may arise due to the paucity of candidates during the currency of the Ranked List published on 22.09.2016. (Gazette dated 12.09.2013, Cat.No. 298/2013)

Direct Recruitment from candidates belonging only to LC/AI Community Note: (i) Application submitted by candidates other than the community mentioned above will be rejected. No individual rejection memo will be issued to such candidates. (ii) The selection in pursuance of the notification will be made on a Unit basis subject to the special conditions laid down in G.O (Ms)No.92/80/Home dated 24.09.1980. All postings and transfers of members of the service shall be made by the IG of prisons. Candidates already in Government service holding this post in any of the units are prohibited from applying again for this post, but they can apply to higher posts when notified. (iii) As the recruitment being done on Unitwise, a candidate appointed in Kannur unit is bound to serve in any of the institutions under its jurisdiction. (iv) (a) In the warder establishment, separate seniority list will be maintained for each unit and Statewide Seniority List will be reckoned on the Warder Establishment for the purpose of promotion of other categories. (b) Every person appointed to the Post shall on probation, from the date on which he joins duty, for a total period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years. (c) They shall undergo in-service training as prescribed by the Head of the Department.

18-42 i.e. candidates born between 02.01.1975 and 01.01.1999 (Both dates included) only are eligible to apply for the post. (Including the age relaxation as per Para 2(i) of the General Conditions). (a) Educational Qualifications: Pass in SSLC or its equivalent qualification (KS & SSR Part II Rule 10 (a) (ii) is applicable) (b) Physical Qualifications: (i) Must have at least 165 cm height and must be minimum 81.3 cms round the chest on full exhalation and must have a minimum chest expansion of 5 cms (ii) Eye sight:- Must be certified to possess the visual standards specified below without glasses. Vision Right Eye Left Eye (a) Distant Vision 6/6 Snellen 6/6 Snellen (b) Near Vision 0.5 Snellen 0.5 Snellen Note: 1) Each eye must have full field of vision. Colour blindness, squint or any morbid conditions of the eyes or lids of either eye will be deemed to be a disqualification. 2) Must be free from apparent physical defects like knock knee, flat foot, varicose veins, bow legs, deformed limbs, irregular and protruding teeth, defective speech and hearing. (c) Must qualify in any five events out of eight events of the National Physical Efficiency One Star Standard Test, as specified below. Sl. Pull-ups or Chinning 8 times 8. 1500 metres run 5 min 44 seconds Note: The Physical measurement of candidates will be taken at the time of Physical Efficiency Test and those who do not possess the prescribed physical measurement will not be admitted for the Physical Efficiency Test. If accidents or injuries happened to a candidate while participating in the Physical Efficiency Test and Practical Test, he will not be given further chance to participate in the test. (d) Should possess a current Heavy passenger vehicle and Heavy goods vehicle Driving Licence with badge – Proficiency in driving shall be ascertained by a practical test conducted by PSC. Note: 1. Possession of Licence for driving Motor cycle shall be a desirable qualification 2. Candidates should possess current Driving Licence on the entire stage of selection, i.e. last date of receipt of application, OMR Test, Physical Efficiency Test, Practical Test etc. 3. Candidate should produce medical certificates of eye sight and physique in the proforma as shown below at the time of Physical Efficiency Test and also these should be uploaded in their profile for verification.

Note: Differently abled candidates and female candidates are not eligible to apply for the post. Candidates must register as per “ONE TIME REGISTRATION” with the Official Website of Kerala Public Service Commission 'www.keralapsc.gov.in' and should apply by logging in using User Id and password. Candidates must click on the 'Apply Now' button of the respective posts in the Notification link to apply for a post. No application fee is required. They can view and print profile details using the ‘Registration Card’ link. The photograph uploaded should be one taken on or after 31.12.2010. Name of the candidate and the date of taking photograph should be printed at the bottom portion. The photograph once uploaded meeting all the requirements shall valid for 10 years from the date of uploading. Candidates are responsible for the correctness of personal information and the secrecy of password. Before the final submission of the application, candidates must ensure the correctness of the information on their profile. They must quote the User ID for further communication with the Commission. Application submitted is provisional and cannot be deleted or altered after submission. The application will be summarily rejected, if non compliance with the notification is found in due course of processing. Documents to prove Qualification, Experience, Community, Age etc. have to be produced and uploaded in their profile as and when called for. Candidates who have Aadhaar Card should add Aadhaar Card as ID proof in their profile. If Written Test/OMR Test/Online Test is conducted as a part of the selection Admission Tickets for eligible candidates will be made available in their Profile and the date of downloading will be included in the Examination Calendar. Candidates can download Admission Ticket for 15 days from this date. Candidates who have downloaded the Admission Ticket will alone be permitted to attend the examination.
