By Transfer Recruitment from Assistant Prison Officers (Male Warder) having the prescribed qualification. (Statewide)

Minimum 18, Candidates born after 01.01.1974 are eligible to apply for this post. Assistant Prison Officer (Male Warder) from Jail Department who apply under this category are exempted from the maximum age limit prescribed for the post.

(a) Educational Qualifications: SSLC or its equivalent. (i) KS & SSR Part II Rule 10 (a) (ii) is applicable (ii) In addition to the qualification specified in the Notification, the qualification declared by Government through executive orders or standing orders, as equivalent to the prescribed educational qualification and the higher qualifications of the notified and prescribed basic qualifications shall be accepted. The Government Order regarding the equivalent qualification/higher qualification shall be produced as and when called for by the Commission. (b) Physical Qualifications: Must have at least 165 cm height and must be minimum 81.3 cms round the chest on full expiration and must have a minimum chest expansion of 5 cms. Note:- Height of 160 cm will be sufficient for the candidate belonging to SC and ST. (c) Eye sight: Must be certified to possess the visual standards specified below without glasses. Vision: Distant Vision (6/6 Snellen Right Eye, 6/6 Snellen Left Eye), Near Vision (0.5 Snellen Right Eye, 0.5 Snellen Left Eye). Note: 1) Each eye must have full field of vision. Colour blindness, squint or any morbid conditions of the eyes or lids of either eye will be deemed to be a disqualification. 2) Must be free from apparent physical defects like knock knee, flat foot, varicose veins, bow legs, deformed limbs, irregular and protruding teeth, defective speech and hearing. (d) Must qualify in any five events out of eight events as specified below: 1. 100 Metres Run (14 seconds), 2. High Jump (132.2 cm), 3. Long Jump (457.2 cm), 4. Putting the shot (weight - 7264 gm) (609.6 cm), 5. Throwing cricket ball (6096 cm), 6. Rope Climbing (365.8 cm), 7. Pull-ups or Chinning (8 times), 8. 1500 metres run (5 min 44 seconds). (e) Should possess a current Heavy passenger vehicle and Heavy goods vehicle Driving Licence with badge – Proficiency in driving shall be ascertained by a practical test conducted by Kerala Public Service Commission.

(i) 50% of the vacancies of the post shall be filled up by direct recruitment and 50% by transfer in the ratio 1:1. In the absence of qualified candidates under by transfer category those vacancies shall also be filled up by direct recruitment. Candidates should submit separate applications for Direct recruitment and by transfer recruitment. (ii) Women and Differently Abled persons are not eligible to apply for this post. (iii) The name age limit and Qualification of this post has been prescribed as per the provisions included in GO(P)NO.89/2014/Home dtd 06.05.2014, G.O(P)No.266/2010/Home dtd 09.12.2010 and GO(P)No.337/2012/Home dtd 28.12.2012. (iv) Separate Ranked list will be prepared for Direct recruitment and by transfer recruitment. The Ranked lists thus prepared and published by the Commission, shall remain in force for a minimum period of one year, subject to the condition that the said lists will continue to be in force till the publication of new list after the expiry of the minimum period of one year or till the expiry of three years whichever is earlier. Candidates will be advised for appointment against the aforesaid vacancies and also against the vacancies, if any reported during the currency of the lists. (v) Candidates who submit application for By Transfer Recruitment should furnish a Service Certificate obtained from their head of office as and when required by the Commission. (vi) Possession of Licence for driving Motor cycle shall be a desirable qualification. (vii) Candidates should possess a current Driving Licence on the entire stage of selection process as on last date of receipt of application, OMR Test, Physical Efficiency Test, Practical Test interview etc. (viii) Candidate should produce medical certificates of eye sight and physique in the proforma as shown in the notification at the time of Physical Efficiency Test and also these should be uploaded in their profile for verification.
