Direct Recruitment i. Category No 257/2014 Open Market ii. Category No 258/2014 From Graduate Head Constables, Police Constables, and officers of corresponding rank in Police or Vigilance Department who have completed probation. iii. Category No. 259/2014 For non-graduate SC/ST candidates (The applications of those SC/ST candidates who have passed pre-university/Pre-Degree or equivalent Examination of recognised University and are applying under this category shall be considered only if sufficient number of SC/ST candidates are not available under category I.)

Category – I (Open Market) – 20-31 : Only candidates born between 02.01.1983 and 01.01.1994 (both dates included). For other conditions regarding the age relaxation, please see para 2 of part II General Conditions. Category – II (Constabulary) – 20 - 36 Only candidates born between 02.01.1978 and 01.01.1994 (both dates included).

a. Educational qualification : Graduation (Rule 10 (a)ii of Part II of KS & SSR is applicable. Note : In the case of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates, if sufficient number of fully qualified candidates are not available, applications of those who have passed Pre-University/Pre-Degree or equivalent Examinations of recognised University shall be considered only to fill up the quota reserved for them under Category I. b. Physical Conditions : Must be physically fit and should posses the following minimum physical standards. i Height : 167 cms (Taller persons will be given preference) ii Chest : 81 cms with minimum expansion of 5 cms. Note: For Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates the minimum height and chest measurements shall be 160 cms and 76 cms respectively. iii Should be certified to possess the visual standards specified below without glasses Left Eye Right Eye 1. Distant Vision 6/6 Snellen 6/6 Snellen 2. Near Vision 0.5 Snellen 0.5 Snellen Note: a Each eye must have full field of vision. b Colour Blindness, squint or any morbid condition of the eye or lids of either eye will be a disqualification. c Candidates should be free from apparent physical defects like knock knee, flat feet, varicose veins, bowlegs deformed limbs, irregular and protruding teeth, defective speech and hearing etc. iv Candidates should produce at the time of interview a Medical Certificate in original in the form prescribed here under certifying to their physical fitness and eye sight without glasses.The Medical Certificate should be one obtained from a Medical Officer not below the rank of a Civil Surgeon. v In addition to the qualification, prescribed above every candidates will be subjected to a physical efficiency test. (The physical measurements of the candidates will be taken before conducting physical efficiency test and those who do not possess the prescribed physical measurements will not be permitted to participate in the physical efficiency test. Candidates must qualify atleast five of the undermentioned eight events of one star standard which is the minimum requirements for recruitment.
