Direct Recruitment (Special Recruitment for Scheduled Tribes only).

20-36. Only Candidates born between 02.01.1988 and 01.01.2004 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post. Note:- The relaxation of age limit envisaged in the sub rule (c) rule 10 of the General Rules in Part II of the KS & SSR, 1958 shall not be applicable to the post.

a. Educational Qualification: 1) Pass in Higher Secondary Examination (Plus 2) conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Government of Kerala or its equivalent qualification. 2) National Trade Certificate in Radio / Television / Electronics / Telecommunication / Electrical Engineering / Computer / Information Technology or its equivalent qualification approved by Government of Kerala. 3) Two years experience in any one of the fields such as Radio / Television / Electronics / Telecommunication / Electrical Engineering / Computer / Information Technology from any authorised / reputed public / private institution. b. Physical Qualification: Must be physically fit. Candidates should possess minimum physical standards as prescribed below: (a) (i) Height : 160 cm. (ii) Chest : 76 cm and a minimum expansion of 5 cm (b) Must be certified by a Medical Officer of the Rank of District Medical Officer of the Health Services Department as to his physique and fitness and capacity for outdoor works and as to the visual standards specified.

Note 1:- Differently Abled candidates and female candidates are not eligible to apply for the post. Note 2:- Applications received from candidates other than Scheduled Tribe candidates will be rejected. Individual communications will not be issued regarding the rejection of their applications for the above reason. Note: The Ranked list of selected candidates published by the Commission shall remain in force for a minimum period of one year. Advice for appointment will be made from the Ranked List published in pursuance of this notification to the above vacancy and also to the vacancies reported further for Special Recruitment from Scheduled Tribes during the pendency of the list. Rule 10(a)(ii) of part II of KS&SSR is applicable. Physical Efficiency Test: In addition to the qualification prescribed above every candidate will be subjected to a Physical Efficiency Test and must qualify in atleast five out of the following eight events for One Star Standard Tests which is the minimum requirements for the recruitment. Training: Every Person selected for appointment shall undergo basic training for a period of 12 months. Bond: Every person appointed to the post, shall execute a bond before joining training to the effect that he will serve the Department for a minimum period of 5 years after completion of training, failing which he will have to remit an amount of Rs. 1,00,000/-. Probation: Every person appointed to this post shall from the date on which he joins duty in that post, on successful completion of training be on probation for a total period of 2 years on duty within a continuous period of 3 years.
