18-36. Candidates should be born between 02.01.1986 and 01.01.2004 (both dates included). Other backward communities and SC/ST candidates are eligible for usual age relaxation. In no case, the maximum age limit shall exceed 50 (fifty) years.

1) Must have passed SSLC or any other equivalent examination. 2) Must possess knowledge of Tamil and Malayalam.

(i) The ranked list prepared for Idukki district shall remain in force for a minimum period of one year and a maximum period of three years. If a new ranked list is published for the same district after one year, the current list will cease to be in force. Vacancies reported to the Idukki District Officer during the validity of this list will be filled from this list. (ii) 4% of vacancies are reserved for differently-abled candidates as per GO(p) no.7/2022/SJD dated 28.10.2022. (iii) Candidates applying for both direct recruitment and recruitment by transfer must submit separate applications for each category. If a candidate is included in both ranked lists and receives a recruitment advice from one, they will be removed from the other list as per KPSC Rules of Procedure Rule 18(iii). (iv) Candidates recommended for appointment from the ranked list will be sent for survey training by the department if they have not already passed the survey test. (v) Selection will be based on a competitive examination at the SSLC level. (vi) Candidates desiring appointment as Clerk (Tamil and Malayalam knowing) in Kerala State Archives must provide a consent letter. They are eligible for appointment to other departments as per rules, but once recommended for appointment in State Archives, they will not be considered for other departments. They must complete the training in the old script as prescribed by the government during the probation period. (vii) The examination will be held at various centers in Idukki district. Candidates are bound to appear at the center allotted to them. (viii) Selection is subject to the special conditions in GO (MS) No. 154/71/PD dated 27.05.1971. Candidates appointed cannot request inter-district transfer for five years. After five years, transfers are subject to government orders dated 02.12.1991 and 06.02.2013. This restriction does not apply to transfers to Idukki, Wayanad, and Kasaragod districts as per GO(P) No. 12/96/PD dated 16.03.1996. This benefit can be availed only once in their official career. Those already in government service in this post cannot apply, but may apply for a higher post.
