Age Limit
18-26. Candidates born between 2.1.1988 and 1.1.1996 (both dates included) only eligible to apply for this post. Other Backward Communities and SC/ST candidates are eligible for usual age relaxation. [for conditions regarding the age relaxation please see Para 2 of the General Conditions]
Qualifications
(1) Must have passed SSLC or equivalent examination. Note : KS & SSR Part II Rule 10 (a) ii is applicable. (2) Must possess valid current Motor Driving Licence with endorsement for driving heavy goods vehicle or heavy passenger vehicle. Note: Candidates shall possess a current Driving Licence through out all the stages of selection process as on the last date of application, OMR Test, Practical Test, Interview etc. (3) Physical Measurements: For General Candidates For SC/ST Candidates Height (without Footwear) 165 cms 160 cms Weight 50 kgs 48 kgs Chest 81 cms 76 cms Chest Expansion 5 cms 5 cms (4) Standards of Vision (without Glasses) Right Eye Left Eye Distant Vision 6/6 Snellen 6/6 Snellen Near Vision 0.5 Snellen 0.5 Snellen Field of Vision Full Full Note: Must be certified to possess the visual standards specified above without above without glasses. Candidates should produce a Medical Certificate issued by a medical officer not below the rank of Civil Surgeon Grade II as to the candidates physique, fitness and capacity for rough outdoor work and also of the visual standards at the time of physical efficiency test. (5) Physical efficiency test – Candidates must qualify in atleast 5 out of 8 items in the physical efficiency test showing the minimum standards of efficiency as noted below. Notes
The ranked list of candidates finalised by the Commission in pursuance of this notification shall cease to be in force after one year from the date of finalization of the ranked list or after one month from the date of commencement of training in respect of the last batch of candidates advised from the ranked list within a period of one year from the date of finalization of ranked list whichever is later. Candidates will be advised from the said list against the vacancies noted above and that may be reported to the Commission in writing during the period of currency of the list. Note:- (i) Women and Physically handicapped persons are not eligible to apply for the post. (ii) The proficiency in driving will be tested by a practical test conducted by the Commission. (ii) A physical efficiency test will be conducted by the Commission to assess the physical standards and suitability of the candidates for the arduous nature of work. Probation:- Every person appointed to the post shall from the date on which he joins duty after he completes the training and examination will be on probation for a period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years. Training:- Selected candidates should undergo a course of training for a period of 4 months in the State Fire Service Training School, and pass the examination in the subject prescribed for the course. Note: A written and practical test will be conducted at the close of training. Those who fails to qualify themselves at the test, will have their training extended for a period of one month at the end of which they shall be tested again in the subjects in which they have failed. Those who fail to qualify themselves in the re-test shall be discharged from the service. Bond:- Every person appointed to the post shall compulsorily serve in the Department for 5 years after completion of training. He shall execute a bond intending to serve for a period of not less than 5 years and shall pay to Government a sum of Rs 2,700/- in case he fails to serve in the department for the said period.
