Age Limit
18-26 Only candidates born between 02.01.1999 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post. Other Backward Communities, Scheduled caste converts and SC/ST candidates are eligible for usual age relaxation as provided under sub rule (c) of the Rule 10 of the general rules. Other conditions regarding age relaxation are not applicable to this post.
Qualifications
1) Must have passed Plus Two or its equivalent examination. Preferential: Diploma in Computer Application Note : 1 KS & SSR Part II Rule 10 (a) (ii) is applicable. 2 In addition to the qualifications prescribed in the Notification, the qualifications recognized by executive orders or standing orders of Government as equivalent to a qualification specified for a post, in the Special Rules or found acceptable by the Commission in cases where acceptance of equivalent qualifications is provided for in the rules and such of those qualifications which pre-suppose the acquisition of the lower qualification prescribed for the post, shall also be sufficient for the post. The copy of the Government Orders declaring equivalent/ higher qualifications shall be produced as and when required by the Commission. 2) Must possess valid current Motor Driving License with endorsement for driving heavy goods vehicle or heavy passenger vehicles with badge. Note: Candidates shall possess a current valid Driving License throughout all the stages of selection process ie. as on the last date of application, OMR Test, Practical Test, Physical Efficiency test etc. 3) Physical Qualifications: The Candidates must be physically fit and should possess the following minimum physical standards as prescribed below. For General Candidates: Height (without Footwear) 165 cms, Weight 50 kgs, Chest 81 cms, Chest Expansion 5 cms For SC/ST Candidates: Height (without Footwear) 160 cms, Weight 48 kgs, Chest 76 cms, Chest Expansion 5 cms 4) Visual Standards: (Without Glasses) Must possess the Visual Standards specified below without glasses. Right Eye: Distant Vision 6/6 Snellen, Near Vision 0.5 Snellen, Field of Vision Full Left Eye: Distant Vision 6/6 Snellen, Near Vision 0.5 Snellen, Field of Vision Full Note i) Each eye must have full field of vision. ii) Colour Blindness, Squint or any morbid conditions of the eyes or lids of either eye shall be a disqualification for appointment. iii) Must be certified by an Ophthalmologist in Government service, to possess the visual standards specified above without glasses. With that candidates should produce a Medical Certificate issued by a Medical Officer not below the rank of a Civil Surgeon Gr -II as to the candidate's physique, fitness and capacity for rough outdoor work, in original in the following format as and when called for by the Commission.
Notes
Women and Differently abled candidates are not eligible to apply in response to this Notification. (i) The ranked list of candidates published by the Commission in response to this Notification shall cease to be in force after one year from the date of finalization of Rank List. Candidates will be advised from the said list against the vacancies that may be reported and pending before the Commission during the period of the currency of the list. (ii) The name, age limit and qualification of this post has been prescribed as per G.O. (P) No. 99/88/Home dated 17.08.1988, G.O.(P) No. 181 dated 10.02.1965, G.O. (P) No. 243/2014/Home dated 26.11.2014, G.O.(Ms.) No. 185/2019/Home dated 23.11.2019, GO(P) No. 110/90/Home dated 27.07.1990 etc. (iii) NCC Cadets having 'A”, 'B' & 'C' Certificates will be given weightage marks at the rate of 2%, 3% and 5% respectively as per GO(Ms)No.112/2007/H.Edn, dated 21.08.2007. (iv) Extra marks will be awarded to meritorious sports persons as per para 6 of the General Conditions. (v) Students Police Cadet (SPC) certificate holders will be given weightage marks as per GO(Ms)No.06/2025/P&ARD dated 01.03.2025 5) Physical Efficiency Test :- Candidates must qualify in at least 5 out of 8 items in the National physical efficiency One Star Standard test. 8. Preferential:- Other conditions being equal, the Home Guard Volunteers who have completed a tenure of three years in that organizations and who have satisfactorily undergone training in Fire Fighting during the period of tenure shall be treated as having preferential qualification for direct recruitment to this post. 9. Probation:- Every person appointed to the post shall from the date on which he joins duty after he completes the training and examination will be on probation for a period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years. 10. Training:- (i) Candidates selected should undergo a course of training for a period of 4 months in the State Fire Service Training School, and pass the examination in the subject prescribed for the course. (ii) A written and practical test will be conducted at the close of training. Those who fails to qualify themselves at the test, will have their training extended for a period of one month, at the end of which they shall be tested again in the subjects in which they have failed. Those who fail to qualify themselves in the re-test shall be discharged from the service. (iii) Seniority among Recruits, who have qualified in the test conducted by Fire and Rescue Services Academy shall be determined on the basis of effective advice of KPSC and they shall be appointed to service on the basis of seniority list, only after completion of successful training. 11. Bond:- Person appointed by direct recruitment to the post of Fire and Rescue Officer (Driver) shall execute a bond, binding himself to serve in the Department for a period of five years and to pay to Government an amount as prescribed by Government, in case of failure to serve in the Department for the said post.
