Age Limit
18-29 Only candidates born between 02.01.1995 and 01.01.2006 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post. Other conditions regarding age relaxation in Para 2 of Part II general conditions of the Gazette Notification are not applicable to this post. In the case of members belonging to Scheduled Caste who had converted to Christianity after adult age and their children, the upper age limit shall be 31 years ie candidates born between 02.01.1993 and 01.01.2006.
Qualifications
1) Must have passed Plus Two or its equivalent examination. Preferential: Diploma in Computer Application (Link) EQUIVALENT/ HIGHER QUALIFICATION Note : (1) KS & SSR Part II Rule 10 (a) (ii) is applicable. (2) In addition to the qualifications prescribed in the Notification, the qualifications recognized by executive orders or standing orders of Government as equivalent to a qualification specified for a post, in the Special Rules or found acceptable by the Commission in cases where acceptance of equivalent qualifications is provided for in the rules and such of those qualifications which pre-suppose the acquisition of the lower qualification prescribed for the post, shall also be sufficient for the post. The copy of the Government Orders declaring equivalent/ higher qualifications shall be produced as and when required by the Commission. 2) Must possess valid current Motor Driving License with endorsement for driving heavy goods vehicle or heavy passenger vehicle with badge. Note: Candidates shall possess a current valid Driving License throughout all the stages of selection process ie. as on the last date of application, OMR Test, Practical Test, Physical Efficiency test, Interview etc. 3) Physical Qualifications: The Candidates must be physically fit and should possess the following minimum physical standards as prescribed below. (a) Height (without Footwear) 165 cms (b) Weight 50 kgs (c) Chest 81 cms (d) Chest Expansion 5 cms 4) Visual Standards: Must possess the Visual Standards specified below without glasses. Right Eye Left Eye (a) Distant Vision 6/6 Snellen 6/6 Snellen (b) Near Vision 0.5 Snellen 0.5 Snellen (c) Field of Vision Full Full Note: I 1.Each eye must have full field of vision. 2.Colour Blindness, Squint or any morbid conditions of the eyes or lids of either eye shall be a disqualification for appointment. Note 2) Must be certified by an Ophthalmologist in Government service, to possess the visual standards specified above without glasses. Candidates should produce a Medical Certificate issued by a Medical Officer not below the rank of a Civil Surgeon as to the candidate's physique, fitness and capacity for rough outdoor work, in original in the following format as and when called for by the Commission. 5) Physical Efficiency Test :- Candidates must qualify in at least 5 out of 8 items in the National physical efficiency One Star Standard test. Notes
Note: Differently abled and female candidates are not eligible to apply in response to this Notification. (i) Applications submitted by candidates belonging to the communities other than Scheduled Caste Converts to Christianity (SCCC) communities will be summarily rejected. No rejection memo will be issued to such candidates. (ii) The above vacancy is now in existence. The ranked list Published as per this notification will be valid until candidates are advised and appointed against the vacancy earmarked for above community, but remain unfilled due to paucity of candidates during the currency of the Ranked List published on 16/05/2023 (Cat.No. 036/2020) Preferential: Other conditions being equal, the Home Guard Volunteers who have completed a tenure of three years in that organizations and who have satisfactorily undergone training in Fire Fighting during the period of tenure shall be treated as having preferential qualification for direct recruitment to this post. Probation: Every person appointed to the post shall from the date on which he joins duty after he completes the training and examination will be on probation for a period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years. Training: (i) Candidates selected should undergo a course of training for a period of 4 months in the State Fire Service Training School, and pass the examination in the subject prescribed for the course. (ii) A written and practical test will be conducted at the close of training. Those who fails to qualify themselves at the test, will have their training extended for a period of one month, at the end of which they shall be tested again in the subjects in which they have failed. Those who fail to qualify themselves in the re-test shall be discharged from the service. (iii) Seniority among Recruits, who have qualified in the test conducted by Fire and Rescue Services Academy shall be determined on the basis of effective advice of KPSC and they shall be appointed to service on the basis of seniority list, only after completion of successful training. Bond: Person appointed by direct recruitment to the post of Fire and Rescue Officer (Driver) shall execute a bond, binding himself to service in the Department for a period of five years and to pay to Government an amount as prescribed by Government, in case of failure to serve in the Department for the said post. Special Instructions: (A) In the case of difference in caste/ community claimed in the application and that entered in SSLC book, the candidate shall produce a Gazette notification in this regard, along with Non Creamy Layer Certificate/ Community Certificate at the time of Certificate Verification. (B) Candidates are required to acquaint themselves with the instructions given in the notification as Part-II, General Conditions before submitting application for the post. Applications which are not submitted in accordance with the terms and conditions laid down in the General Conditions are liable to be rejected. (C) Appropriate disciplinary action as per Rule 22 of the Kerala Public Service Commission Rules of Procedure shall be initiated against those candidates who submit applications with bogus claims of qualification regarding education, experience etc., and are liable to be disqualified for being considered for a particular post or debarment from applying to the Commission either permanently or for any period or the invalidation of their answer scripts or products in a written/ practical test or the initiation of criminal or other proceedings against them or their removal or dismissal from office or the ordering of any other disciplinary action against them if they have already been appointed, or any one or more of the above.
