19-36. Candidates born between 02.01.1985 and 01.01.2002 are eligible to apply for this post (Both dates included). (Including the age relaxation as per Para 2(i) of the General Conditions)

1. A Degree in forestry from Kerala Agriculture University or any Equivalent degree from any University, Institution or Deemed university recognized by Government of India or Government of Kerala for this purpose. Note 1:KS & SSR Part II Rule 10(a)(ii) is applicable. 2.Candidates who have applied with equivalent qualification instead of qualification mentioned in the notification, should produce the relevant Government order to prove their qualifications equivalency at the time of verification. 2. Physical Qualification: Candidates must have the following physical measurements. a) For male candidates must not be less than 158 cms in height and 76.5 cms round the chest with a minimum expansion of 5 cms. For female candidates must not be less than 145 cms in height. b) Both the male and female candidates must possess the Medical Standards as prescribed below. 1. Ear : Hearing should be perfect 2. Eye: Must be certified to possess visual standards specified below without glasses (a) Distant vision 6/6 snellen (b) Near vision 0.5 snellen (c) Colour vision Normal (d) Night Blindness Nil 3. Muscles and Joints No paralysis and all joints with free movements 4. Nervous system Perfectly normal. Free from any infectious diseases

(i) The above vacancy is now in existence. The Second NCA notification is issued due to the paucity of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribe community after the issuance of the first NCA notification vide category no. 038/2014. The first NCA notification was necessitated owing to the paucity of candidates belonging to the ST community in the ranked list published on 24.10.2011in pursuance of the notification dated 11.12.2008 (Category no. 385/2008). (ii) Applications submitted by candidates belonging to the communities other than notified will be summarily rejected. No rejection memo will be issued. (iii) If there is a difference in original caste/community claimed in the application and that entered in SSLC book, the candidate shall produce a Gazette notification in this regard, along with Non-Creamy Layer Certificate/ Community Certificate at the time of certificate verification. (iv) The Ranked List published as per this notification will be valid until a candidate is advised and appointed against the vacancy earmarked for the above mentioned community, but remain unfilled due to paucity of candidates during the currency of the Ranked List published for the post on 24.10.2011. (v) Differently Abled candidates are not eligible to apply for this post. (vi) The selected candidates will be sent by the Department before a Medical Board to issue a health certificate and to certify that the candidate is fit to take strenuous, outdoor work in the Forest Department. (vii) Persons recruited direct to the category of Rangers shall undergo practical training for a period of one year in the Forest Department prior to their appointment as Rangers. The period spent on practical training in the department will not be counted for probation, leave, increment, pension etc. During the period of practical training, trainees will be eligible for a monthly allowance at such rate fixed by government from time to time.
