Recruitment by transfer (from among the employees who have completed the prescribed service and who are working as Clerk/ Typist/ Attender/ Office Attendant/ Binder in the General Education Department.)

1. A Degree in the concerned subject and B. Ed./ B.T. in the concerned subject both conferred or recognized by the Universities in Kerala. (Concerned subjects are specified in Note iii below.) 2. Must have passed the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K-TET Category III) for this post conducted by the Government of Kerala. Exemption: i. Candidates who have qualified C-TET/ NET/ SET/ M. Phil./ Ph. D. in the respective subjects/ M. Ed. in any subject are exempted from acquiring K-TET [G.O.(P.) No. 145/16/G.Edn. Dated 30.08.16, G.O.(P.) No. 206/16/G.Edn. Dated 08.12.2016 and G.O.(P.) No. 15/2020/G.Edn. Dated 09.10.2020]. ii. C-TET (Primary stage and Elementary stage) qualification shall not be considered as an alternative qualification for K-TET Category III [G.O.(P.) No. 6/2024/G.Edn. Dated 01.02.2024]. Note: i. M. Phil. in the concerned subject be the one awarded by any of the Universities in Kerala or recognised as equivalent by any of the Universities in Kerala. ii. The employees of the General Education Department who entered service before 31.03.2012 and have completed the prescribed period of service as Clerk/ Typist/ Attender/ Office Attendant/ Binder are exempted from acquiring K-TET qualification. iii. The applicant should have taken History or Economics or Geography or Politics or Philosophy or Sociology as main subject for Graduation. The candidates who possess B. Ed. Degree in Social Science after obtaining a degree in Commerce or Music before 21.09.2022 are also eligible to apply for the post [G.O.(MS.) No. 234/2022/G.Edn. dated 19.12.2022]. iv. Diploma in Rural Service awarded by the National Council for Rural Higher Education will also be treated as equivalent to Degree for the above purpose. v. The candidates who have acquired B.A. Ed. Integrated Course (Social Studies, English) conducted by the Regional Institute of Education in Mysore are also eligible to apply for the post [G.O.(Rt.) No. 2135/2019/G.Edn. dtd 04.06.2019]. vi. Post Graduates in concerned subject with B. Ed./ B.T. in the concerned subject are also eligible to apply for the post. vii. The following qualifications are also acceptable for appoinment to the post of High School Teacher (Social Science). a. B.A. Degree in Islamic History and Urdu Double Main and B. Ed. in Social Studies. OR b. B.A. Degree in Islamic History (Main), General Economics and Indian History (Subsidiaries) and B. Ed. in History. OR c. B.A. Degree in Islamic History and Arabic Main and B. Ed. in History. [a, b & c above as per G.O.(MS.) No. 254/90/G.Edn. dated 05.12.1990.] OR d. B.A. Degree in Islamic History (Main), General Economics and Political Science (Subsidiaries) and B. Ed. in History [G.O.(MS.) No. 21/94/G.Edn. dated 21.02.1994]. OR e. B.A. (Islamic History and Arabic Main) and B. Ed. (Social Studies). OR f. B.A. Islamic History (Main), Indian History and Political Science (Subsidiaries) and B. Ed. (History) or B. Ed. (Social Studies). OR g. B.A. Islamic History (Main), Political Science and General Economics (Subsidiaries) and B. Ed. (Social Studies). OR h. B.A. Islamic History (Main), Outlines of Indian Culture and Freedom Movement and Political Science (Subsidiaries) and B. Ed. (Social Studies). [e, f, g & h above as per G.O.(MS.) No. 327/2001/G.Edn. dated 07.11.2001.] i. B.A. Islamic History (Main), Linguistics and Indian History (Subsidiaries) and B. Ed. (Social Science) [as per G.O.(MS.) Candidates should have service not less than 5 years as Clerk/ Typist/ Attender/ Office Attendant/ Binder in the General Education Department as on the date of application. Documents to prove qualification, date of birth and service have to be produced as and when called for by the Commission. Candidates should keep a Service Certificate (in original) in the form prescribed below from the Head of Office/ Department and produce as and when called for by the Commission.
