20 –34. Only candidates born between 02-01-1990 and 01-01-2004 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post- including relaxations in General Conditions Para 2(i). (For other conditions regarding age relaxations, please see para 2 of Part II General Conditions except para 2(i))

1. Educational Qualifications: (i). A Degree in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering from any University established by statute or any Degree declared equivalent thereto. OR A Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering with one year experience from a Government approved work shop. Note:-(a) KS & SSR Part II Rule 10(a)(ii) is applicable. (b) Candidates who claim equivalent qualifications instead of qualification mentioned in the notification shall produce the relevant government order to prove the equivalency at the time of verification, then only such qualification shall be treated as equivalent to the prescribed qualification concerned. (c) In the case of difference in original caste/community claimed in the application and that entered in SSLC book, the candidate shall produce a gazette notification in this regard, along with Non creamy layer certificate at the time of certificate verification. (ii). Must have valid current Heavy Duty Licence for Driving. Note: (a) Must possess a current Driving License throughout all the stages of selection process as on the last date of receipt of application, OMR Test, Verification, Measurement, Practical Test, Interview etc.. (b) Driving Licence should have separate endorsement of heavy-duty goods vehicles and heavy- duty passenger vehicles. Applications with only one endorsement will be summarily rejected. This condition is not applicable for Driving Licence with 'TRANS' endorsement. (c) Differently abled persons are not eligible to apply in respect to this notification. 2. Physical Qualifications: Must be physically fit and should possess the following minimum physical standards. (a) Height - 165 cms (b) Chest - 81 – 86 cms Minimum chest measurement - Normal 81 cm and expanded 86 cm (Minimum expansion not less than 5 cm) (c) Eye Sight: Should be certified to possess the Visual Standards specified below without glasses. Right Eye: Distant vision 6/6 Snellen, Near vision 0.5 Snellen Left Eye: Distant vision 6/6 Snellen, Near vision 0.5 Snellen Note:1) Each eye must have a full field of vision. 2) Colour Blindness, Squint or any morbid conditions of the eyes or lids of either eye shall be a disqualification. 3)Candidates should have sound health and should be free from apparent physical defects like knock-free, Flat Feet, Varicose veins, Bow legs, Deformed limbs, irregular and protruding teeth, defective speech and hearing. The candidates should produce at the time of certificate verification a Medical Certificate (in original) in the form given below certifying to possess the Physical Fitness and eye sight without glass obtained from a Medical Officer not below the rank of Civil Surgeon in Government Service.

i) Applications submitted by candidates belonging to the communities other than Latin Catholic/Anglo Indian communities will be summarily rejected. No rejection memo will be issued to such candidates. ii) The above vacancy is now in existence. The ranked list Published as per this notification will be valid until candidates are advised and appointed against the vacancy earmarked for above community, but remain unfilled due to paucity of candidates during the currency of the Ranked List published on 05/05/2021 (Cat.No. 13/2016) 8. Training: Every person appointed by Direct recruitment to the above category shall undergo basic training for a period of six months in Kerala Police Academy or Police Training College or any other institution as may be prescribed by the Director General of Police. During the period of training the trainee shall be paid the minimum of the basic pay of the post as stipend. The period they undergo training will not count for the purpose of Probation, Increment, Promotion or Higher Grade and will not have any right or claim for payment of salary in the prescribed scale of pay which will be entitled to them only after passing the test conducted at the end of the training. 10. Appropriate Disciplinary action as per Rules of procedure Rule 22 shall be initiated against those candidates who submit applications with bogus claims of qualification regarding education, experience etc and submit confirmation for writing examination irrespective of whether they are present or absent for the examination. 12. If Written Test/OMR Test/Online Test is conducted as a part of this selection candidate shall submit a confirmation for writing the examination through their One Time Registration Profile. Such candidates alone can generate and download the admission tickets in the last fifteen days till the date of test. The applications of candidate who do not submit confirmation within the stipulated period will be rejected absolutely.
