18-26. Candidates born between 02.01.1997 and 01.01.2005 (both dates included) only are eligible to apply for this post. Note: Maximum age limit shall be relaxed upto 29 years for OBC candidates, 31 years for SC/ST candidates and 41 years for Ex-service men.
Qualifications
(1) Educational Qualification : a. Pass in SSLC or its equivalent b. National Trade Certificate in Electrician Trade. Note: (i) Rule 10 (a) (ii) of Part II of the KS&SSR is applicable (ii) In addition to the qualification specified in the Notification, the qualification declared by Government through executive orders or standing orders, as equivalent to the prescribed educational qualification and the higher qualifications of the notified and prescribed basic qualifications shall be accepted. The Government Order regarding the equivalent qualification/higher qualification shall be produced as and when called for by the Commission. (2) Physical Qualifications : All candidates must be physically fit and should possess the following minimum physical standards. (a) Height : 165cms (b) Chest : 81-86 cms (Normal 81 cms, expanded 86 cms) with minimum expansion of 5 cms. Note: (i) The minimum height and chest measurements shall be 160 cms and 76-81 cms respectively for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Chest: Normal 76 cms, Expanded 81 cms) with minimum expansion of 5 cms. (ii) Eye Sight: Candidates must be certified to possess the visual standards specified below without glasses. Vision Right Eye Left Eye (a) Distant Vision 6/6 Snellen 6/6 Snellen (b) Near Vision 0.5 Snellen 0.5 Snellen Note:- (i) Each eye must have a full field of vision. (ii) Colour blindness, squint or any morbid conditions of the eye or lids of either eye will be deemed to be a disqualification. (iii) Must be free from apparent physical defects like knock-knee, flat foot, Varicose vein, bow legs, deformed hands & limbs, irregular and protruding tooth, defective speech and hearing. (iv) All candidates should produce, a Medical Certificate in original in the form prescribed here under, certifying to their physical fitness and eyesight without glasses at the time of Physical Measurement. The Medical Certificate should be one obtained from a Medical Officer under the Government not below the rank of an Assistant Surgeon/ Junior Consultant.
Notes
(i) The name, age limit and qualification of this post has been prescribed as per GO(P)No.20/2011/Home dated 24.01.2011 (SRO No.79/2011). (ii) A Ranked List will be prepared for the above post in pursuance of this notification. The Ranked list published for this post shall remain in force for a minimum period of one year and a maximum period of three years provided that the said list will continue to be in force till the publication of a new list after the expiry of the minimum period of one year or till the expiry of three years. Candidates will be advised from the said list against the vacancies noted above and the vacancies that may be reported to the Commission during the currency of the list. In case no candidate is advised from the ranked list till the expiry of the period of three years the duration of the ranked list shall be extended for a further period of one year or till at least one candidate is advised from the list whichever is earlier. (Note: Women candidates and differently abled candidates are not eligible to apply in response to this notification.) 8. Reservation of Appointment:- The rules regarding reservation of appointments mentioned in rules 14 to 17 of General Rules under the Kerala State and Subordinate Services Rules, 1958 shall apply to appointment by direct recruitment. 9. Probation:- For a total period of two years on duty within a continuous period of 3 years from the date of joining duty after training. 10. Training:- Every person appointed by direct recruitment shall undergo basic training for a period of 6 months in the Kerala Police Academy or Police Training College or in any other institutions as may prescribed by the Director General of Police. 11. Mode of submitting applications:- Candidates must register as per ‘ONE TIME REGISTRATION’ with the official Website of Kerala Public Service Commission www.keralapsc.gov.in before applying for the post. Candidates who have registered can apply by logging on to their profile using their User-ID and Password. Candidates must click on the 'Apply Now' button of the respective posts in the Notification Link to apply for the post. The Photograph uploaded should be one taken after 31.12.2013. Candidate who have created new profile on or after 01.01.2022 should upload their photograph taken within a period of six months. Name of the candidate and the date of photograph taken should be printed legibly at the bottom portion of the photograph. The photograph once uploaded meeting all requirements shall be valid for 10 years from the date of uploading. There is no change in other instructions regarding the uploading of photographs. No application fee is required. Candidates are responsible for the correctness of the personal information and secrecy of password. Before the final submission of the application on the profile candidates must ensure correctness of the information in their profile. They must quote the User-ID for further communication with the Commission. Application submitted is provisional and cannot be deleted or altered after submission. Candidates are advised to keep a printout or soft copy of the online application for future reference. Candidates can take the printout of the application by clicking on the link 'My applications' in their profile. All correspondences with the Commission, regarding the application should be accompanied with the print out of the application. The application will be summarily rejected if non compliance with the notification is found in due course of processing. Original documents to prove qualification, experience, age, community etc. have to be produced as and when called for. The profile correction made by the candidates themselves or through the office of the Kerala Public Service Commission on request after the last date fixed for the receipt of applications will not be reflected in the application. Such corrections will come into effect only on the date on which corrections have been made. Candidates who have AADHAAR card should add AADHAAR as I.D. Proof in their profile. 13. If Written Test/OMR Test/Online Test is conducted as a part of this selection candidate shall submit a confirmation for writing the examination through their One Time Registration Profile. Such candidates alone can generate and download the admission tickets prior to fifteen days till the date of test. The applications of candidates who do not submit confirmation within the stipulated period, will be rejected absolutely. The periods regarding the submission of confirmation and the availability of admission tickets will be published in the examination calendar itself. Information in this regard will be given to the candidates through their respective profiles and in the mobile phone number registered in it. 14. Special Instructions to candidates: (1) In the case of difference in Caste/Community claimed in the application and that entered in the SSLC book, the candidate shall produce a Gazette Notification in this regard, along with Non Creamy Layer Certificate/ Community Certificate at the time of certificate verification. (2) Candidates are required to acquaint themselves with the instructions given in the Notification as Part II, General conditions before submitting application for the post. Applications which are not submitted in accordance with the terms and conditions laid down in the general conditions are liable to be rejected. (3) Appropriate disciplinary action as per Rule 22 (1976) of the Kerala Public Service Commission Rules of Procedure shall be initiated against those candidates who submit applications with bogus claims of qualification regarding education, experience etc. and are liable to be disqualified for being considered for a particular post or debarment from applying to the Commission either permanently or for any period or the invalidation of their answer scripts or products in a written/practical test or the initiation or criminal or other proceedings against them or their removal or dismissal from office or the ordering of any other disciplinary action against them if they have already been appointed, or any one or more of the above.
