District-wise Alappuzha – Scheduled Caste - 1 (One)

Direct Recruitment. (Only from candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste reservation community of Kerala State.)

19-41; Candidates should be born between 02.01.1981 and 01.01.2003 (both dates included). [Including relaxation as per General Conditions paragraph 2(i)]. The upper age limit shall not exceed 50 years under any circumstances.

Must possess at least SSLC level general educational qualification. Note: 1) Ex-servicemen need only be able to read and write English. In such cases, the selecting authorities must certify that they have sufficient knowledge of English to perform the job. However, candidates appointed in this manner are not eligible for promotion or transfer to higher posts like Port Conservator. 2) Appointed candidates must undergo the following training during their probation period: i) Training of not less than 6 (six) weeks in International Code Signalling and Flags. ii) Training of not less than six weeks in Light Keeper and Signaller job thereafter. iii) Training of not less than six weeks in proper handling of 'AGA' acetylene lamps at the India Government Light House Workshop. 3) Visual Power: i) Candidates must have the following visual power: Left Eye: Distant Vision V- 6/6 snellen, Near Vision 0.6 snellen Right Eye: Distant Vision V- 6/6 snellen, Near Vision 0.6 snellen Squint, or any other eye/eyelid defects (e.g., Trachoma) will be considered as disqualification. ii) Must have the ability to distinguish principal colours. Note: A medical certificate from a Medical Officer not below the rank of Civil Surgeon Grade-II must be produced when required by the Commission to prove the above visual power. A model of the medical certificate is attached.

1) The vacancy is currently existing. A separate rank list will be prepared for Alappuzha district for this notification. The rank list will remain in force until candidates are advised and appointed against the vacancy reserved for the community in the rank list that came into force on 12.02.2020 (Cat No. 278/2017) in Alappuzha district, which remained unfilled due to the absence of candidates from that community. 2) Candidates belonging to the mentioned reservation community should apply only for Alappuzha district and must enter the district name in the specified column of the application. 3) Selection is district-wise as per Government Order (MS) 154/71/PD dated 27.05.1971. A person appointed cannot be transferred to another district for five years from the date of commencement of service. Transfer after five years is subject to Government Order (MS) 4/61/PD dated 02.01.1961. Candidates already in government service in the same post in any district are not eligible to apply, but can apply for higher posts. 4) Candidates belonging to communities other than the one mentioned will be rejected without notice. 5) KS & SSR Part II Rule 10 (a) (ii) is applicable. 6) Candidates must produce original documents when required by the Commission. 7) Candidates with Aadhar card must provide it as an identity document in their profile. 8) Candidates must take a soft copy/print out of the online application for future use. 9) If a written/OMR/online test is conducted, candidates must confirm their participation through their One Time Registration profile. Only those who confirm will be able to download the admission ticket in the last 15 days before the exam date. Failure to confirm will lead to unconditional rejection of the application.
