Age Limit
22 – 43. Only candidates born between 02.01.1979 and 01.01.2000 (both dates included) are eligible to apply. (Other age relaxation conditions as per Part II of the General Conditions apply, excluding paragraph 2(i)).
Qualifications
1) Master's Degree in the concerned subject (i.e., M.A. Sanskrit - Jyothisham) with not less than 50% marks. 2) Must have passed the Comprehensive Test (NET) for the subject conducted by the University Grants Commission or an agency specifically constituted by the State Government for this purpose. Note: Preference will be given to candidates who have knowledge of Malayalam when qualifications are equal.
Notes
I) Only candidates with a Special M.A. in the subject will be considered when Assistant Professors are required to teach a specific subject in Sanskrit [G.O.(P) No.41/94/H.Edn. dated 21.03.1994 with amendment to the above G.O.Viz. G.O.(P) No.114/94/H.Edn. Dated 06.08.1994]. II) Additional marks will be given for non-qualifying degrees like Ph.D/M.Phil/Post Doctoral Fellowship in the relevant subject. Non-qualifying M.Phil - 2 marks, Non-qualifying Ph.D - 4 marks, M.Phil & Ph.D (Non-qualifying) - 5 marks, Post Doctoral Fellowship - 2 marks. III) KS & SSR Part II Rule 10 (a) ii is applicable. IV) Candidates must produce Government orders declaring their qualification as equivalent to the prescribed qualification if required. V) Candidates with Ph.D in the relevant subject are exempted from the NET requirement (G.O. (P) No.86/07/H.Edn dated 19.06.2007). VI) Degrees/Diplomas from UGC recognized universities or institutions established by Parliament/State Legislature as per G.O(M.S) No.526/PD dated 17.07.1995 are acceptable.
