I) By – Transfer Recruitment (875/2025)
Recruitment by transfer from Head masters and High School Teachers in the Kerala General Education Subordinate Service and Teachers of Government Higher Secondary Schools having the qualifications and experience prescribed for the post.
In the absence of qualified candidates for appointment under item (I) above, by direct recruitment.
II) Direct Recruitment (876/2025)
Note:- Method of Direct Recruitment will be considered only in the absence of qualified candidates for recruitment by transfer.
Age Limit
1. For Recruitment By – Transfer: No upper age limit is prescribed
2. For Direct Recruitment : 22-50; [Only candidates born between 02.01.1975 and 01.01.2003 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post.
Qualifications
For Recruitment By-Transfer and Direct Recruitment
1. Masters degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks or it's equivalent and good academic records. GO(P)No. 115/2008/H.Edn dt. 27.09.2008
2. M.Ed degree with not less than 55% marks GO(P)No. 102/2011/H.Edn dt. 19.07.2011
3. Three years teaching experience in Schools or Colleges after acquiring the Professional qualifications. GO (P) No. 41/94/H.Edn dtd 21.03.1994
4. Must have passed a comprehensive test specifically conducted for the purpose by UGC or any agency duly constituted by the State Government in this behalf.
When qualifications are equal preference shall be given to candidates who possess adequate knowledge in Malayalam.
Notes
Note I: The above vacancy is now in existence. The Ranked list of selected candidates published by the Commission in response to this notification shall remain in force for a minimum period of one year provided that the said list will continue to be in force till the publication of a new list after the expiry of the minimum period of one year or till the expiry of three years whichever is earlier. Candidates will be advised from the said list against the aforesaid vacancy and the vacancies reported to the Commission during the period of the currency of the list.
Note II: The qualification prescribed for appointment shall stand revised in accordance with that fixed by the UGC/ State Government from time to time.
Note III: The educational qualifications prescribed as per GO(P)No. 115/2008/HEd dt. 27.09.2008 shall not be insisted in the case of those who were in service before 27.09.2008 ie, the date of publication of the Kerala Collegiate Education Service (Amendment) Special Rules, 2008.
Note IV: Rule 10(a) ii of Part II of KS & SSR is applicable.
Note V: Candidates who have acquired Non-qualifying degrees viz. Ph.D/M.Phil/Post Doctoral Fellowship will be awarded weightage marks provided that such non-qualifying degrees shall be in the subjects pertaining to the basic qualification stipulated for the post. Weightage marks for non qualifying degrees for ranking will be awarded as detailed below.
Non-Qualifying M.Phil - 2 marks
Non-Qualifying Ph.D- 4 marks
Both M.Phil & Ph.D (Non-Qualifying) -5 marks
Post Doctoral Fellowship - 2 marks
Note VI: Non-Qualifying degree means the additional qualifications which are earned apart from the qualifications insisted on as essential qualifications for the post. If Ph.D/M.Phil/Post Doctoral Fellowship is reckoned as necessary qualification for the post, weightage marks will not be awarded for it.
Note VII: Weightage marks will be awarded only to those non-qualifying degrees which are claimed in the application and which are acquired on or before the last date for receipt of application.
Note VIII: The Degrees / Diplomas awarded by UGC approved Universities or Institutions established through an act passed by Parliament/State Legislative Assembly in accordance with the condition laid down in G.O (M.S) No.526/PD dated 17/07/1965 are acceptable for appointment in Government Services.
Note IX: In addition to the qualifications prescribed in the notification, the qualifications recognized by executive orders or standing orders of Government as equivalent to a qualification specified for a post, in the special Rules or found acceptable by the commission in cases where acceptance of equivalent qualifications is provided for in the rules and such of those qualifications which pre-suppose the acquisition of the lower qualification prescribed for the post, shall also be sufficient for the post. The copy of the Government orders declaring equivalent/higher qualifications shall be produced as and when required by the Commission.
Exemptions: The Candidates having Ph.D Degree in the concerned subject are exempted from NET. Otherwise NET shall remain the compulsory requirement for appointment as Assistant Professor in Collegiate Education Department in Training Colleges. (GO(P)No. 86/07/H. Edn. Dated:19.06.2007)
Reservation: Rules of reservation provided under rules 14 to 17 of part II of KS & SSR 1958 are not applicable in the case of Recruitment By-Transfer
Candidates who apply for By – Transfer recruitment should obtain a service certificate in original in the form mentioned below from the head of institution in which they are working as HM/HST/HSS Teacher and produce the same as and when required by the Commission.
