18-36. Candidates should be born between 02.01.1987 and 01.01.2005 (both dates included). Other backward communities and SC/ST candidates are eligible for usual age relaxation. In no case, the maximum age limit shall exceed 50 years (including all relaxations). See Part II of the Gazette notification (Para 2) for special concessions.

(1) Pass in Plus Two or its equivalent. (2) Lower Grade Certificate in English Typewriting (KGTE) and Computer Word Processing or its equivalent qualification. Note: Candidates who have acquired KGTE English Typewriting qualification before January 2002 should possess a separate certificate in Computer Word Processing or its equivalent qualification before the last date of application. (3) Lower Grade Certificate in Malayalam Typewriting (KGTE) or its equivalent. (4) Lower Grade Certificate in English Shorthand (KGTE) or its equivalent qualification. (5) Lower Grade Certificate in Malayalam Shorthand (KGTE) or its equivalent qualification. [G.O.(MS) No. 21/2011 P&ARD dated 01.07.2011]. (Certificates from Typewriting Institutes and IMC certificates are not accepted).

(i) A ranked list will be prepared for Kottayam district. The ranked list will be in force for a minimum period of one year and a maximum period of three years. If a new ranked list is published for the same post in the same district after one year, the current list will cease to exist. Vacancies reported during the validity of the list will be filled from the list. (ii) Appointments will be made from the ranked list to the vacancies in the headquarters office. Candidates appointed are eligible for inter-district transfer as per G.O.(MS) 442/80/PD dated 26.09.1980. However, since this selection is exclusively for Ex-Servicemen, candidates appointed in one district are not eligible for inter-departmental transfer as per G.O.(MS) 51/90/PD dated 22.11.1990. (iii) Selection is district-wise as per G.O.(MS) No. 154/71/PD dated 27.05.1971. Candidates appointed cannot be transferred to another district for five years. After five years, inter-district transfer is subject to conditions in G.O.(P) 36/1991/P&ARD dated 02.12.1991. Candidates already in government service in the same post in any district are not eligible to apply. (iv) 4% of vacancies are reserved for differently-abled candidates as per G.O.(P) No. 7/2022/SJD dated 28.10.2022 and G.O.(P) No. 5/2023/SJD dated 01.10.2023. (v) KS&SSR Part II Rule 10 (a) (ii) is applicable. (vi) Candidates must upload a photo taken after 31.12.2013 with name and date of photo taken clearly recorded. The photo is valid for 10 years. New profiles must upload a photo taken within 6 months. (vii) Candidates must confirm their participation for OMR/Online test through their profile.
