22-40. Only candidates born between 02.01.1985 and 01.01.2003 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post with usual age relaxation to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Communities. 1. Masters Degree with not less than 50% marks in Tamil Language and Literature from any statutory University established in India. 2. M.Ed Degree with not less than 50% marks with specialization in Language Education or Methods of Teaching Tamil from any statutory University established in India 3. Teacher Eligibility Test or National or State Eligibility Test or M.Phil or Ph.D in the subject concerned or in Education

Note : 4% of the total vacancies reported shall be reserved for eligible Differently Abled candidates as specified vide G.O (P) No. 13/2024/SJD dated 17.10.2024. Note :- 1) Candidates who have acquired Non-qualifying degrees viz. Ph.D/M.Phil/Post Doctoral Fellowship will be awarded weightage marks provided that such non qualifying degrees shall be in the subjects pertaining to the basic qualification stipulated for the post.Weightage marks for non qualifying degrees for ranking will be awarded as detailed below. Non-Qualifying M.Phil - 2 marks Non-Qualifying Ph.D- 4 marks Both M.Phil & Ph.D (Non-Qualifying) -5 marks Post Doctoral Fellowship - 2 marks 2) Non-Qualifying degree means the additional qualifications which are earned apart from the qualifications insisted on as essential qualifications for the post. If Ph.D/M.Phil/Post Doctoral Fellowship is reckoned as necessary qualification for the post,weightage marks will not be awarded for it. 3) Weightage marks will be awarded only to those non-qualifying degrees which are claimed in the Qualification,Weightage Details and Declaration links of the application and which are acquired on or before the last date for receipt of applications. 4) Rule 10 a (ii) of part II of KS&SSR is applicable. 5) The Degrees / Diplomas awarded by UGC approved Universities or Institutions established through an act passed by Parliament/State Legislative Assembly in accordance with the condition laid down in G.O (M.S) No.526/PD dated 17/07/1965 are acceptable for appointment in Government Services. 6) Candidates who claim equivalent qualification instead of qualification mentioned in the notification shall produce the relevant Government Order to prove the equivalency at the time of certificate verification. Then only such qualification shall be treated as equivalent to the prescribed qualification. 7) In addition to the qualifications prescribed in the notification, the qualifications recognized by Executive Orders or Standing Orders of Government as equivalent to a qualification specified for a post, in the special Rules and such of those qualifications which pre-suppose the acquisition of the lower qualification prescribed for the post, shall also be sufficient for the post. The copy of the Government Orders declaring equivalent / higher qualifications shall be produced as and when required by the Commission. 8) In the case of difference in original caste/ community claimed in the application and that entered in SSLC book, the candidate shall produce a Gazette notification in this regard, along with Non Creamy Layer Certificate/ Community Certificate at the time of certificate verification Probation : Every person appointed to this post shall from the date on which he joins duty, be on probation for a total period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years.
