Direct Recruitment from among Draftsman/Overseer First Grade ,Second Grade and Third Grade, who have rendered not less than 2 years of service as First Grade, Second Grade, Third Grade Overseers and from among Clerks, Typists/Typist – Clerks or Confidential Assistants, who have rendered not less than 6 years of service as Clerks, Typists/Typist – Clerks or Confidential Assistants in the Irrigation Department. (GO(MS)No.266/76/PW Dated 10.12.1976)

Must have completed 20 (Twenty) years as on 01.01.2022.Upper age limit is not applicable for this selection.

A) 1. B.Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering of the Kerala University or its equivalent. OR B.E. Degree in Mechanical Engineering of the Madras University or its equivalent. OR 3. Associate Membership Diploma of the Institution of Engineers (India) in Mechanical Engineering or any other qualifications recognised as equivalent to a degree. OR 4. Pass in Section A & B of the Associate Membership Examination of the Institution of Engineers (India) in Mechanical Engineering. OR 5. Any other qualification recognised by the Government as equivalent to B.Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering of the Kerala University. AND B) In the case of First Grade, Second Grade, Third Grade Draftsman / Overseer, they should have rendered not less than 2 years service in Irrigation Department as First Grade, Second Grade, Third Grade Overseers. In the case of Clerks, Typists/Typist – Clerks or Confidential Assistants, they should have rendered not less than 6 years of service as Clerks, Typists/Typist – Clerks or Confidential Assistants in the Irrigation Department

i) Rule 10 a (ii) of part II of KS&SSR is applicable. ii)In addition to the qualifications prescribed in the notification, the qualifications recognized by executive orders or standing orders of Government as equivalent to a qualification specified for a post, in the Special Rules or found acceptable by the Commission in cases where acceptance of equivalent qualifications is provided for in the rules and such of those qualifications which pre suppose the acquisition of the lower qualification prescribed for the post, shall also be sufficient for the post. The copy of the Government orders declaring equivalent / higher qualifications shall be produced as and when required by the Commission iii)Candidate should produce a Service Certificate in original obtained from the Head of Office/Department to prove the length of their service, in the respective category in the Department as and when called for by the Commission. Service Certificate should be in the form given in the Annexure. iv)If at any time, qualified hands are not available, the vacancies in this quota will be filled up by direct recruitment of candidates from open market. Liability to serve in the Defence Service: Persons appointed to the above post shall be liable notwithstanding that at the time of requisition of the services, they are holding higher appointments to serve for a minimum period of 4 years (including periods spent on training if any) in the Defence Service or on assignment relating to Defence efforts anywhere in India or abroad, if so required. This liability to serve in Defence Service will be limited to the first 10 years of service and will not ordinarily apply to persons above 40 years of age.
