Age Limit
18-31. Candidates born between 02.01.1991 and 01.01.2004 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post. (Including the relaxation as provided under Sub rule(c) of the Rule 10 of the general rules. Other conditions regarding age relaxation are not applicable to these posts)
Qualifications
i) (a) Must have passed Plus Two or its equivalent examination. Note: KS & SSR Part II Rule 10(a)(ii) is applicable. ii) Must possess valid current Motor Driving Licence with endorsement for driving heavy goods vehicle or heavy passenger vehicle with badge. Note: Candidates shall possess a current valid Driving Licence throughout all the stages of selection process, ie as on the last date of application, OMR Test, Practical Test, Physical Efficiency Test and Interview etc. Preferential: Diploma in Computer Application Note: (i) In addition to the qualification specified in the Notification, the qualification declared by Government through executive orders or standing orders, as equivalent to the prescribed educational qualification and the higher qualifications of the notified and prescribed basic qualifications shall be accepted. The Government Order regarding the equivalent qualification/higher qualification shall be produced as and when called for by the Commission. iii) Physical Measurements: Height (without Footwear) 160 cms Weight 48 kgs Chest 76 cms Chest Expansion 5 cms Physical Measurement will be taken prior to the Physical Efficiency Test/Practical Test. Those who do not satisfy prescribed Physical Standards will not be allowed to participate in the Physical Efficiency Test under any circumstances. If accidents or injuries happen to a candidate while participating in the Physical Efficiency Test, he will not be given further chance to participate in the test. iv) Standards of Vision (Without glasses) Right Eye Left Eye a) Distant Vision 6/6 Snellen 6/6 Snellen b) Near Vision 0.5 Snellen 0.5 Snellen c) Field of Vision Full Full Note: 1. Each eye must have full field of vision. Colour Blindness, squint or any morbid conditions of the eyes or lids of either eye shall be a disqualification for appointment. 2. Must be certified by an Ophthalmologist, to possess the visual standards specified above without glasses. With that candidates should produce a Medical Certificate issued by a medical officer not below the rank of Civil Surgeon as to the candidate’s physique, fitness and capacity for tough outdoor work as and when called for by the Commission. v) Physical Efficiency Test A Physical efficiency test will be conducted by the Commission to assess the Physical Efficiency of the candidates. Candidates must qualify in atleast 5 out of 8 items in the physical efficiency test showing the minimum standards of efficiency as noted below. Notes
Preferential:- Other conditions being equal, the Home Guard Volunteers who have completed a tenure of three years in that organizations and who have satisfactorily undergone training in Fire Fighting during the period of tenure shall be treated as having preferential qualification for direct recruitment to this post. Probation:- Every person appointed to the post shall from the date on which he joins duty after he completes the training and examination will be on probation for a period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years. Training:- Selected candidates should undergo a course of training for a period of 4 months in the State Fire Service Training School, and pass the examination in the subject prescribed for the course. Note: A written and practical test will be conducted at the close of training. Those who fails to qualify themselves at the test, will have their training extended for a period of one month at the end of which they shall be tested again in the subjects in which they have failed. Those who fail to qualify themselves in the re-test shall be discharged from the service. Bond:- Every person appointed to the post shall compulsorily serve in the Department for 5 years after completing of training. He shall execute a bond intending to serve for a period of not less than 5 years and shall pay to Government a sum of Rs.2,700/- in case he fails to serve in the department for the said period. Mode of submitting applications:- Candidates must register as per ‘ONE TIME REGISTRATION’ with the official Website of Kerala Public Service Commission (www.keralapsc.gov.in) before applying for the post. Candidates who have registered can apply by logging on to their profile using their User-ID and password. Candidates must click on the ‘Apply Now’ button of the respective posts in the Notification Link to apply for a post. The Photograph uploaded should be taken on or after 31/12/2012. Those candidates who create new profile 01.01.2022 onwards should upload their photograph taken within six months. Name of the candidate and the date of taking photograph should be printed at the bottom portion. The photograph once uploaded meeting all the requirements shall be valid for 10 years from the date of uploading. There is no change in other instructions regarding the uploading of photographs. No application fee is required. Candidates shall take a printout of the application by clicking the link ‘Applications’ in their profile. All correspondences with the Commission, regarding the application should be accompanied with the printout of the application. Candidates are responsible for the correctness of their personal information and secrecy of password. Before the final submission of the application, candidates must ensure the correctness of the information on their profile. They must quote the User-ID for further communication with the Commission. Application once submitted is received as provisional and the details cannot be deleted or altered after submission. The application submitted not in accordance with the conditions stipulated in the notification will be summarily rejected in due course of processing. Documents to prove qualification, Experience, Community, age etc have to be produced as and when called for. Invoking Rule 22 of the Kerala Public Service Commission Rules of Procedure 1978, candidates who submit application with false claims such as education, experience etc., shall be liable for disqualification for being considered for the particular post or debarment from applying to Kerala Public Service Commission either permanently or for a fixed period or invalidation of their products made in the practical test or invalidation of their answer scripts in a written examination or initiation of legal proceedings against them or their removal or dismissal from office or the ordering of any other disciplinary/legal action against them if they have already been appointed, or any one or more of the above. If Written Test/OMR Test/Online Test is conducted as a part of this selection candidate shall submit a confirmation for writing the examination through their One Time Registration Profile. Such candidates alone can generate and download the admission tickets in the last fifteen days till the date of test. The applications of candidate who do not submit confirmation within the stipulated period will be rejected absolutely. The periods regarding the submission of confirmation and the availability of admission tickets will be published in the examination calendar itself. Information in this regard will be given to the candidates in their respective profiles and in the mobile phone number registered in it. Note Before applying for the post, candidates shall acquaint themselves with the General Conditions given in Part II of the Gazette Notification. Applications submitted contradictory to the General Conditions will be rejected.
