A Pass in S S L C or its equivalent qualification and must possess any of the qualifications mentioned below. 1. SMT (Sri Moolam Technical) Institute Oversees Course (Mechanical ) Two year Course. 2. Draftsman course (Mechanical) of the College of Engineering Guindy. 3. Pass in the following subjects under KGTE or MGTE or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto. a) Applied Mechanics (Higher) b) Machine Drawing (Higher) c) Heat Engine (Higher) d) Hydraulic and Sanitary Engineering (Higher) e) Practical Plane and Solid Geometry (Lower) or Geometrical Drawing (Lower) f) Mensuration (Lower) 4. Certificate Course in Mechanical Engineering ( 2 year course) of the College of Engineering Thiruvananthapuram 5. Industrial Training Institute Diploma/Certificate in the trade of Draftsman (Mechanical) issued by the Government after completion of 2 years course or its equivalent. 6. Kerala Government Certificate Examination in Mechanical Engineering (2 Year Course). OR A Pass in the following subjects under Kerala Government Technical Education /Madras Government Technical Education Higher or Lower 1. Machine Drawing 2. Geometrical Drawing or Practical Plane and Solid Geometry 3. Applied Mechanics OR Junior Technical School Leaving Certificate.

Note:- 4% of the total vacancies reported shall be reserved for eligible Differently Abled Candidates with disabilities as specified vide G.O.(P)No. 5/2023/SJD dated 01.10.2023 and GO(P)5/2025/SJD dated 06.06.2025. Please click the link to see the Government Order and Medical Certificate in this regard. i) Rule 10 a (ii) of part II of KS&SSR is applicable. ii) In addition to the qualifications prescribed in the notification, the qualifications recognized by executive orders or standing orders of Government as equivalent to the qualification specified for the post, in the Special Rules or qualifications found acceptable by the Commission since acceptance of equivalent qualification is provided for in the Rules and such of those qualifications which pre-suppose the acquisition of the lower qualification prescribed for the post, shall also be sufficient for the post. The copy of the Government orders declaring equivalent / higher qualifications shall be produced as and when required by the Commission. Probation: Every person appointed to the post shall from the date on which he/she joins duty be on probation for a total period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years.
