20-40, Only candidates born between 02.01.1981 and 01.01.2001 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for the post with usual relaxation to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other Backward Communities. (For conditions regarding the age relaxation please see Part II Para 2 of the General Conditions)

1. B.Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering of the Kerala University or its equivalent. OR 2. B.E. Degree in Mechanical Engineering of the Madras University or its equivalent. OR 3. Associate Membership Diploma of the Institution of Engineers (India) in Mechanical Engineering or any other qualifications recognised as equivalent to a degree. OR 4. Pass in Section A & B of the Associate Membership Examination of the Institution of Engineers (India) in Mechanical Engineering. OR 5. Any other qualification recognised by the Government as equivalent to B.Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering of the Kerala University.

i) Persons appointed to the above post shall be liable notwithstanding that at the time of requisition of the services, they are holding higher appointments to serve for a minimum period of 4 years (including periods spent on training if any) in the Defence Service or on assignment relating to Defence efforts anywhere in India or abroad if so required. This liability to serve in Defence Service will be limited to the first 10 years of service and will not ordinarily apply to persons above 40 years of age. ii) 3% of the vacancies shall be reserved for Differently abled candidates (Category: Locomotor disability / Cerebral Palsy, Low Vision, Hearing Impairment) for recruitment to the post as per GO (P) No.61/2012/SWD dated 17.10.2012 iii) Rule 10 a (ii) of part II of KS&SSR is applicable. iv) Candidates who claim equivalent qualification instead of qualification mentioned in the notification shall produce the Equivalency Certificate / relevant Government Order to prove the equivalency at the time of verification. Then only such qualification shall be treated as equivalent to the prescribed qualification concerned. v) In the case of difference in original caste/ community claimed in the application and that entered in SSLC book, the candidate shall produce a Gazette notification in this regard, along with Non Creamy Layer Certificate/ Community Certificate at the time of certificate verification.
