Anticipated Vacancies

1. By Transfer Recruitment: 50% of vacancies shall be filled up by transfer from any categories of approved probationers in any Subordinate Service/Last Grade Service of Government of Kerala. 2. Direct Recruitment: 50% of vacancies shall be filled up by direct recruitment.

1. By Transfer Recruitment (Cat.No. 413/2023): Must have completed 18 years as on 01.01.2023. Upper age limit is not applicable. 2. Direct Recruitment (Cat.No. 414/2023): Age 18-36. Only candidates born between 02.01.1987 and 01.01.2005 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for the post. Other backward communities, SC/ST candidates are eligible for usual age relaxation (for other conditions regarding the age relaxation please see part 2 of the General Conditions).

1. By Transfer Recruitment (Cat.No. 413/2023): (I) SSLC (II) Diploma in Library Science or Certificate in Library Science which are recognised by Government OR (iii) Degree in any subject with Degree in Library Science 2. Direct Recruitment (Cat.No. 414/2023): (I) SSLC (ii) Diploma in Library Science or Certificate in Library Science which are recognised by Government. Preference being given to Diploma holders. OR Degree in any subject and Degree in Library and Information Science acquired after a regular course of study from a recognised university.

1. KS&SSR Rule 10(a) ii is applicable. 2. The substantive vacancies shall be filled up by appointment by transfer and direct recruitment in the ratio 1:1. In the absence of qualified candidates under by transfer category, those vacancies shall be filled up by direct recruitment. 3. In addition to qualifications prescribed in the notification, the qualifications recognised by executive orders or standing orders of Government as equivalent to the qualification specified for the post in the special rules and such of those qualifications which presuppose the acquisition of lower qualification prescribed for the post, shall also be sufficient to the post. The copy of the Government orders declaring equivalent / higher qualifications shall be produced as and when required by the Commission. 4. For appointment by transfer, the rules of reservation will not apply and that candidates shall be advised on the basis of strict seniority assigned in the ranked list. 5. In a unit of 2 vacancies the following shall be order of rotation: 1. By transfer, 2. By direct recruitment. 6. Candidates who apply for recruitment by transfer shall obtain the details regarding their service from the head of the concerned department in the form given below and shall produce the same to the Commission as and when called for. 7. 4% of the vacancies will be reserved for eligible Differently Abled candidates as per GO(P) No.7/2022/SJD dt 28.10.2022.
