18-31. Only candidates born between 02.01.1994 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post. Note :- Upper age limit shall be relaxed up to 41 years for Ex-servicemen. Other conditions regarding age relaxation in para (2) of the general conditions are not applicable to this selection.

(a) Educational Qualification Pass in HSE (Plus Two) or its equivalent. Note :- Those who have failed in HSE (Plus 2) shall also be considered if sufficient number of qualified candidates are not available to fill up the quota of Police Constables reserved for the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes. Note: Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II of KS & SSR is applicable. (b) Physical Qualifications (a) (i) Height : A minimum of 160cm. (ii) Chest : A minimum of 76 cm (with a minimum expansion of 5 cm). (b) Eye Sight : Must be certified to possess the visual standards specified below without glasses. Vision Right Eye Left Eye Distant Vision 6/6 Snellen 6/6 Snellen Near Vision 0.5 Snellen 0.5 Snellen Note :- (1) Each eye must have a full field of vision. (2) Colour blindness, squint or any morbid conditions of the eyes or lids of either eyes will be deemed to be a disqualification. (3) Must be free from apparent physical defects like knock-knee, flat foot, varicose vein, bow legs, deformed hands & limbs, irregular and protruding tooth, defective speech and hearing. (c) Must qualify in any five events out of eight events specified below, of the National Physical Efficiency, One Star Standard Test. 1. 100 Meters Run - 14 Seconds 2. High Jump - 132.20 cm 3. Long Jump - 457.20 cm 4. Putting the Shot (7264 gm) - 609.60 cm 5. Throwing the cricket ball - 6096 cm 6. Rope climbing (using hands only) - 365.80 cm 7. Pull up or chinning - 8 times 8. 1500 meters run - 5 minutes & 44 seconds

Note: Women candidates and differently abled candidates are not eligible to apply in response to this notification. Note : Applications submitted by candidates other than Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe will be rejected. Individual communications regarding the rejection of their applications for the above reason will not be issued. Selection will be made on Battalion wise basis. Candidates are prohibited from applying to more than one Battalion in response to this notification. Candidates appointed to the various Battalions will be allowed transfer only to the District Armed Reserves concerned as shown against the Battalions noted above. Ranked lists for KAP I & KAP IV Battalions will be published. The Ranked lists thus published shall cease to be in force after one year from the date of finalization of the ranked list. Vacancies of the above post exclusively for scheduled Tribes will also be advised from this list, if no separate ranked list is available or a separate selection is under way exclusively for Scheduled Tribe for filling up of such vacancies. Training: Persons recruited direct for appointment to the category of Police Constable shall undergo training for a period of nine months. Probation: Every person appointed by direct recruitment on the above post shall from the date on which he joins duty be on probation for a total period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years. Candidates must register as per ONE TIME REGISTRATION with the official website of Kerala Public Service Commission www.keralapsc.gov.in before applying for the post. Candidates who create new profile should upload photograph taken within 6 months. Name of the candidate and the date of photograph taken should be printed legibly at the bottom portion. No application fee is required. Candidates who have Aadhaar card should add Aadhaar card as I.D proof in their profile. If a Written/OMR/Online Test is conducted as part of this selection, candidate shall submit a confirmation for writing the examination through their One Time Registration Profile. Special instructions to candidates regarding bogus claims and disciplinary action are applicable.
