18–36 Only candidates born between 02.01.1988 and 01.01.2006 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post with usual relaxation to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Communities. Qualifications
1. Must have passed the SSLC examination or its equivalent examination. 2. a. National Trade Certificate in Draftsman Civil or Surveyor. OR b. Group Certificate in Kerala Government Certificate of Engineering (Group Certificate will include all the four subjects namely Building, Drawing, Building Construction, Survey and Irrigation) OR c. A pass in the Madras Government Technical Examination/Kerala Government Technical Examination in the following seven subjects,namely (i) Surveying and levelling (Higher) (ii) Applied Mechanics ( Higher) (iii) Building Materials and Construction (Higher) (iv) Building Drawing and Estimating (Higher) (v) Hydraulics and Irrigation (Higher) (vi) Geometrical Drawing (Higher) (vii) Mensuration (Lower) OR d. Diploma in Civil Engineering (2 year course) of the woman’s Polytechnic of the State of Kerala (GO(P) No. 10/93/F&PD Dated.27.03.1993(SRO NO.547/93)
Notes
Note:- 4% of the total vacancies reported from Harbour Engineering Department shall be reserved for eligible Differently Abled candidates with disabilities as specified vide GO(P)No. 5/2023/SJD dated 01.10.2023. (i) Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II KS&SSR is applicable. (ii) In addition to the qualifications prescribed in the notification, the qualifications recognized by executive orders or standing orders of Government as equivalent to a qualification specified for a post, in the Special Rules or found acceptable by the Commission in cases where acceptance of equivalent qualifications is provided for in the rules and such of those qualifications which pre-suppose the acquisition of the lower qualification prescribed for the post, shall also be sufficient for the post. The copy of the Government orders declaring equivalent/higher qualifications shall be produced as and when required by the Commission. Probation: candidates appointed by direct recruitment will be on probation for a period of two years with in a continuous period of three years.
