(A) A Degree in the concerned subject and B.Ed/BT in the concerned subject, both conferred or recognized by the Universities in Kerala (Concerned Subjects are specified in Note (iii) below). Note:- (i) Diploma in Rural Service awarded by the National Council for Rural Higher Education will also be treated as equivalent to the Degree for the above purpose. (ii) Question papers for the Written Test if any will be in Malayalam. The Candidates should answer the questions in Malayalam. (iii) Applicants should have taken Physics/Chemistry as main subject for graduation. Degree in Geology (Main) with Physics and Chemistry as subsidiary subjects with B.Ed Degree (Physical Science) can also be considered as an alternative qualification for the post (GO(MS) No. 195/96/G.Edn. Dated 2.7.1996) (iv) Post Graduate in concerned subject with B.Ed/BT are also eligible to apply for the post (v) Post title degree holders are not eligible to apply for the post of High School Assistant (vi) Degree in the concerned subject and B.Ed means B.Ed should also be in the concerned subject. (B) Service as Clerk/Typist/Attender/Peon in the Education Department with not less than 5 years as on the date of application.

i) In the absence of suitable candidates, the vacancies set apart for By Transfer recruitment shall be filled by the Candidates from the Ranked List prepared for direct recruitment. ii) The applicant should be an approved probationer/Full member of the Kerala Education subordinate services as on the date of application. iii) Separate Ranked List will be prepared for each district in pursuance of this notification. Ranked List thus prepared and published by the Commission shall remain in force for a minimum period of one year, subject to the condition that the said list will continue to be in force till the publication of a new list after the expiry of the minimum period of one year or till the expiry of three years which ever is earlier. Candidates will be advised for appointment against the vacancies, if any, reported during the currency of the list. In case no candidate is advised from the ranked list till the expiry of the period of three years, the duration of the ranked list shall be extended for a further period of one year or till at least one candidate is advised from the list whichever is earlier. iv) The selection in pursuance of the notification will be made on a revenue district basis, subject to the special conditions laid down in G.O.(MS)No.154/71/PD, dated 27.5.1971. A candidate advised for appointment in one revenue district from the Ranked List prepared is not eligible for transfer to another district unless he/she completes five years continuous service from the date of commencement of service in the former district. Even if transfer is allowed after five years, it will be subject to the rules in G.O.(Ms)No.4/61/PD, dated 2.1.1961. But as per GO(P) No. 12/96/P&ARD dated 16.3.1996 the condition of 5 years service is not applicable for transfer to the districts of Idukki, Wayanad and Kasaragod districts. The concession will be available only for getting transfer to these districts, but not for getting transfer out of these districts. And this concession will be granted only once in the career of a Government Servant. Candidates already in Government service holding the same post in any one district are prohibited from applying again for this post, but they can apply to higher posts when notified. v) Application should not be submitted to more than one district in response to this notification. If applications are submitted contrary to the above direction and if selected his/her name will be removed from the ranked lists and disciplinary action will be taken against him/her. Candidates should note the name of concerned district against the relevant column of the online application. vi) The Rules regarding the reservation of appointment contemplated in Article 14 to 17 in Part II of the KS&SSR are not applicable to recruitment by transfer.
