A) A Degree in Arabic conferred or recognized by the Universities in Kerala. OR A Title of Oriental Learning in Arabic awarded or recognized by the Universities in Kerala. OR A Pre-degree certificate in Arabic (Special Optional) of the Calicut University. OR A pass in Plus Two, Part III Arabic (Optional) course conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examinations in Kerala. OR A pass in SSLC Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Kerala with Arabic as First Language (Part I and II). OR A pass in SSLC Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Kerala or its equivalent and any one of the following qualifications: 1) A pass in Arabic Munshi (Higher) Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Kerala. 2) A pass in Arabic Munshi (Lower) Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Kerala. 3) A pass in Arabic Teachers Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Kerala. 4) A pass in Arabic Entrance Examination of the Kerala or Calicut University. Note: In addition to the above qualifications, BA Arabic & Islamic History Double Main Degree awarded or recognized by the Universities in Kerala is also accepted as a qualification for this post as per G.O.(MS) No. 8/19/G.Edn dated 14.01.2019. B) Must have passed the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (KTET-IV) for this post conducted by the Government of Kerala. Exemption: Candidates who have acquired CTET/NET/SET/M.Phil/Ph.D/M.Ed in the respective subject are exempted from acquiring KTET qualification (G.O. (P) No. 145/16/G.Edn. dated 30.08.2016, G.O. (P) No. 206/16/G.Edn. dated 08.12.2016). Candidates working as Clerk, Typist, Attender, Office Attendant in the General Education Department who entered service before 31.03.2012 are not required to pass KTET for appointment by transfer.

i) In the absence of qualified candidates for appointment by transfer, the vacancies will be filled from the Ranked List prepared for direct recruitment. ii) Candidates must be a Full Member or an approved Probationer of the Kerala General Education Subordinate Service as on the date of application. iii) Separate Ranked Lists will be prepared for each district. The list will be in force for a minimum period of one year and a maximum of three years. If a new list is published after one year, the old list will cease to exist. Vacancies reported during the validity of the list will be filled from it. If no one is advised from the list within 3 years, the validity may be extended for one more year or until a candidate is advised, whichever is earlier. iv) Candidates must apply for the district where the vacancy is reported. Applying for more than one district will lead to rejection of application and disciplinary action. v) Selection is district-wise as per G.O.(MS) No. 154/71/PD dated 27.05.1971. Inter-district transfer is not allowed for 5 years from the date of joining. After 5 years, transfer is subject to G.O.(MS) No. 04/61/PD dated 02.01.1961. The 5-year service condition is not applicable for Idukki, Kasaragod, and Wayanad districts as per G.O.(P) No. 12/96/P&ARD dated 16.03.1996 (applicable only once). vi) Reservation rules under Part II, Rules 14 to 17 of KS & SSR are not applicable for this appointment. Notes on KTET: CTET Category I is equivalent to KTET Category I, and CTET Category II is equivalent to KTET Category II. CTET Category III and IV are not accepted in lieu of KTET Category III and IV. M.Ed need not be in the relevant subject as per G.O.(P) No. 15/2020/G.Edn dated 09.10.2020. M.Phil must be from a recognized university in Kerala or equivalent. KS & SSR Part II Rule 10 a(ii) is applicable. Equivalent qualifications must be supported by government orders at the time of verification. Candidates must be working as Clerk, Typist, Attender, or Office Attendant in the General Education Department with not less than 5 years of service as on the date of application [G.O.(Ms.)No.8/2009/G.Edn. Dated 20.01.2009, G.O.(Ms.)No.69/2021/G.Edn. Dated 16.02.2021]. A service certificate in the prescribed format must be produced when required by the Commission.
