Age Limit
18-26 Only candidates born between 02.01.1999 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post. Other Backward Communities, Scheduled Castes converts and SC/ST candidates are eligible for usual age relaxation as provided under sub rule (c) of Rule 10 of the general rules. Other conditions regarding age relaxation are not applicable to this post.
Qualifications
I) Educational Qualifications:- Pass in Plus Two or its equivalent. Preferential : Diploma in Computer Application II) Physical Qualification:- A) The Candidates must be physically fit and should possess the following minimum physical standards as prescribed below. For General Candidates: 152 cms For SC/ST Candidates: 150 cms III) Must have proficiency in swimming. Note: The proficiency in swimming will be tested by a practical test conducted by the Commission. The following are the criteria for the swimming test. (i) 50 M swimming trial to be completed within two minutes 15 seconds. (ii) Two minutes floating ability at the deeper side of the swimming pool. Candidate must qualify both the events to be considered as qualified in the swimming test. IV) Visual Standards Must possess the Visual Standards specified below without glasses. (i) Distant vision: 6/6 snellen (Right Eye), 6/6 snellen (Left Eye) (ii) Near vision: 0.5 snellen (Right Eye), 0.5 snellen (Left Eye) (iii) Field of Vision: Full (Right Eye), Full (Left Eye) Note: (a) Each Eye must have a Full Field of Vision (b) Colour Blindness, Squint or any Morbid Conditions of the Eye or Lids of either Eye shall be a disqualification for appointment. (c) Candidates should produce a Medical Certificate issued by a Medical Officer not below the rank of a Civil Surgeon Gr. II as to the candidate's physique, fitness and capacity for rough outdoor work and also of the visual standards. Candidates should produce Medical Certificate in original in the following format as and when called for by the Commission. V) Physical Efficiency Test:-Candidates must qualify in at least 5 out of 8 items in the Physical Efficiency Test of National One Star Standard showing the minimum standards of efficiency as noted below. 1. 100 Metres Run: 17 Seconds 2. High Jump: 106.00 cm 3. Long Jump: 305.00 cm 4. Putting the Shot (4 kgs): 488.00 cm 5. 200 metres race: 36 seconds 6. Throwing the throw Ball: 14 meters 7. Shuttle race (4 x 25 metre): 26 seconds 8. Skipping (one minute): 80 times
Notes
Note: Men and Differently Abled candidates are not eligible to apply in response to this notification. (i) The above vacancies are now in existence. The Ranked Lists of candidates published by the Commission in response to this Notification shall cease to be in force for one year from the date of finalization of Ranked Lists. Candidates will be advised from the said lists against the aforesaid vacancies and vacancies that may be reported to the Commission during the period of the currency of the lists. (ii) Candidates are prohibited from applying to more than one District in response to this notification. If applications are submitted contrary to the above direction and if she is selected, her name will be deleted from the Ranked list and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken against her. Candidates already in Government Service holding the same post in anyone district are prohibited from applying again for this post, but they can apply to higher posts when notified. (iii) The name, age limit and qualification of this post has been prescribed as per, G.O (Ms) No. 161/18/Home dated 10.10.2018, G.O.(Ms).No. 128/2019/Home dated 21.08.2019, G.O.(Ms) No. 128/2020/Home dated 18.06.2020, G.O.(Ms) No.99/2022/ Home dated 16.05.2022 etc. (iv) The selection in pursuance of the notification will be made on a Revenue District basis subject to the special conditions laid down in G.O (Ms) No. 154/71/PD dated 27.05.1971. A candidate advised for appointment in one Revenue District from the Ranked List prepared, is not eligible for transfer in another District unless she has completed five years continuous service from the date of commencement of service in the former District. Even if transfer is allowed after five years, it will be subject of the rules of G.O (Ms) No. 4/61/PD, dated 02.01.1961. (v) NCC Cadets having 'A”, 'B' & 'C' Certificates will be given weightage marks at the rate of 2%, 3% and 5% respectively as per GO(Ms)No.112/2007/H.Edn, dated 21.08.2007. (vi) Extra marks will be awarded to meritorious sports persons as per para 6 of the General Conditions. (vii) Students Police Cadet (SPC) certificate holders will be given weightage marks as per GO(Ms)No.06/2025/P&ARD dated 01.03.2025 8. Bond:- Person appointed by direct recruitment to the post of Woman Fire & Rescue Officer (Trainee) shall execute a bond (as in Annexure I – G.O.(Ms)No. 128/19/Home dated 21.08.2019), binding herself to serve in the force for a minimum period of 7 years and to pay to Government an amount of Rs. 50,000/- or as prescribed by Government, in case of failure to serve the department in the said post. 9. Probation:- Every person appointed to the post shall from the date on which she reported for duty after she completes the training and examination prescribed be on probation for a period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years. 10. Training:- (I) Training for a period of 6 months in the State Fire Service Training School or in any other institution as may be fixed, and a pass in the examination in the subjects prescribed for the course. (II) Seniority among persons recruited direct who have qualified in the test conducted by Fire and Rescue Services Academy shall be determined on the basis of effective advice of the Kerala Public Service Commission and they shall be appointed to the service on the basis of seniority list, only after completion of successful training. (III) After the above training six months practical training at a Fire Station and a pass in the examination in the subjects prescribed for the course. (IV) A written and practical test shall be conducted during the last fortnight of the period of training. Those who fail to qualify in either one or both tests shall have their training extended for a further period of one month, at the end of which they shall be tested again in the subjects in which they failed. The Director of Fire & Rescue Services shall allow a third chance to pass the course to all Woman Fire & Rescue Officer recruits who fail at the re-test. Those who failed to qualify themselves in the above test shall be discharged from the service. (V) Persons undergoing training shall be paid basic pay as stipend. The person who successfully complete the training shall be eligible for pay and allowance during the prescribed training period mentioned above, after she joins duty. The training period including final examination in the entry cadre shall be treated as duty for all purposes.
