Recruitment by transfer (District-wise) i) Category No. 212/2025 : By transfer from among the Lower Division Clerks/Lower Division Typists/Forest Drivers in Kerala Forest Department, who have been declared to be an approved probationer. ii) Category No. 213/2025 : By transfer from among eligible Depot Watchers/Reserve Watchers/Tribal Watchers. who have been declared to be an approved probationer. iii) Category No. 214/2025 : By transfer from among the Last Grade Government Servants in the Kerala Forest department who have been declared to be an approved probationer. (other than Depot Watchers/Reserve Watchers/Tribal Watchers)
Age Limit
No person shall be eligible for appointment by transfer to the post of Beat Forest Officer, if he/she has completed 40 years of age on the first January of the year in which applications for the appointment (ie.01.01.2025) are invited, with usual relaxation of age limit for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Communities as provided in the rule 10(c),of Part II of KS&SSR,1958.
Qualifications
(1) Educational Qualification: Pass in Plus Two Examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Government of Kerala or equivalent examination recognized by Government of India or Government of Kerala. (2) Candidates should possess the following qualifications also (a) Male Candidates (i) Physical Standards: Height- A minimum of 168 cms, Chest-A minimum of 81cms round the chest and must have an expansion of 5 cms on full inhalation. (ii) Physical Efficiency Test: All the male candidates must qualify in any of the 5 (Five) events out of the 8 (Eight) events specified below of the National Physical Efficiency One Star Standard Test for men. (iii) Endurance Test: All male candidates shall successfully complete an endurance test of running 2 Kilometers in 13 (Thirteen) minutes. (b) Female Candidates (i) Physical Standards: Height-A minimum of 157 cms. (ii) Physical Efficiency Test: All the Female candidates must qualify in any of the 5 (Five) events out of the 9 (Nine) events specified below of the National Physical Efficiency One Star Standard Test for women. (iii) Endurance Test: All female candidates shall successfully complete an endurance test of running 2 Kilometers in 15(Fifteen) minutes. (3) Medical Standards: Both male and female candidates must possess medical standards prescribed.
Notes
1. Differently Abled candidates are not eligible to apply for the post. 2. The name, age limit and qualifications of this post have been prescribed vide GO(P)No 60/2010/F&WLD dated 30.08.2010(SRO No 861/2010) and GO(P)No.84/2014/F&WLD dated 20.09.2014 (SRO No 574/2014). 3. Candidates are prohibited from applying to more than one District in response to the notification. 4. Separate ranked lists for each District will be published. 5. Candidates who are eligible to apply for both Direct Recruitment and Recruitment by transfer need not select the same District for both categories. 6. The selection in pursuance of this notification will be made on a revenue district basis. 7. Quota reserved for the appointment by transfer shall be 10% of the cadre strength for each of the above mentioned categories. 8. The principles of rules of reservation and rotation prescribed in rule 14 to 17 of part II of the KS&SSR 1958 will not apply for this notification. 9. If required number of suitable candidates are not available for appointment by any of the by transfer methods such vacancies shall be filled up by the candidates from the Ranked List prepared for direct recruitment. 10. Beat Forest Officers appointed by transfer shall undergo training for one year in any of the forest training schools. 11. If appointed, the candidate shall be on probation for a total period of 2 years on duty within a continuous service of 3 years.
