Method of appointment
Direct Recruitment. (From candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe communities only). In the absence of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste candidates, applications of Scheduled Tribe candidates will be considered and vice-versa.
Age Limit
20-45. Candidates must have been born between 02.01.1978 and 01.01.2003 (both dates included). [including the relaxation as per Para 2(i) of the General Conditions].
Qualifications
1. Master's Degree in the concerned subject with not less than 45% marks from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto in any of the Universities in Kerala. 2. (i) B.Ed. in the concerned subject acquired through a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto by a University in Kerala. (ii) B.Ed. Degree acquired in the concerned faculty specified in the Acts and statutes of any of the Universities in Kerala. (iii) In the absence of B.Ed. Degree holders, persons with B.Ed. Degree acquired in the concerned faculty specified in the Acts and statuses of any of the Universities in Kerala, or B.Ed. Degree acquired in any subject through a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or equivalent recognized qualification of a University in Kerala shall be considered. 3. Must have passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of Higher Secondary School Teacher conducted by the Government of Kerala or by the Agency authorized by the Government of Kerala. (GO(P)No.144/2001/Gl.Edn dated 16.04.2001).
Notes
1. KS & SSR Part II Rule 10 (a) ii is applicable. 2. In addition to the qualifications prescribed in this notification, the qualifications recognized by executive orders or standing orders of Government as equivalent to a prescribed qualification, and such those statutory qualifications prescribed by special rules as possessing the prescribed qualification to the basic qualification shall be accepted. 3. The disciplines/faculties such as Humanities, Science, Commerce etc. which are part of the Universities/Deemed Universities/Central Universities are considered as concerned subjects for acquiring B.Ed. 4. Persons who have acquired M.Ed. in the concerned subject recognized by a University in Kerala are exempted from B.Ed. qualification. 5. Language Teachers Training Course passed candidates are exempted from B.Ed. qualification. 6. Those candidates who possess M.Ed in the concerned subject recognized by any of the Universities in Kerala are exempted from B.Ed. qualification.
