Direct Recruitment (From candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities only). In the absence of candidates belonging to the SC community, applications from ST community will be considered and vice versa. Applications should be submitted separately for each category.

20-45. Only candidates born between 02.01.1978 and 01.01.2003 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post (including the relaxation as per Para 2(i) of the General Conditions).

1. Master's Degree in the concerned subject with not less than 45% marks from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized by any of the Universities in Kerala as equivalent thereto. 2. (i) B.Ed. in the concerned subject acquired after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized by any of the Universities in Kerala as equivalent thereto. (ii) B.Ed. Degree acquired in the concerned faculty specified in the Acts and statutes of any of the Universities in Kerala. (iii) In the absence of B.Ed. Degree holders candidates who have acquired B.Ed. Degree in any subject through regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto by any of the Universities in Kerala, shall also be considered. 3. Must have passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of Higher Secondary School Teacher conducted by the Government of Kerala or by any agency authorized by the Government of Kerala. (GO(P)No.144/2001/Gl.Edn dated 16.04.2001).

1. KS & SSR Part II Rule 10 (a) ii is applicable. 2. In addition to the qualifications prescribed in the notification, the qualifications recognized by executive orders or standing orders of Government as equivalent to a prescribed qualification and such statutory rules as are promulgated by Government in respect of special rules will be considered. 3. As per G.O.(MS) No.526/PD dated 17.07.1965, degrees/diplomas awarded by Universities recognized by the UGC/Institutions established by Parliament/State Legislative bodies are accepted for appointment to Government Services. 4. Persons who have acquired B.Ed. Degree with not less than 45% marks in Master's Degree and passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) are eligible for consideration. Preference shall be given to those who have acquired Ph.D/M.Phil Degree or Junior Research Fellowship/National Eligibility Test (NET). Teachers appointed under this provision shall acquire B.Ed Degree at their own expense within five years from the date of joining service. 5. Language Teachers Training Course passed candidates are exempted from acquiring B.Ed qualification. 6. M.Ed Degree holders recognized by any University in Kerala are exempted from B.Ed qualification. 7. Candidates claiming reservation/community should enter the correct community in the application and produce community certificate issued by the competent authority along with the Gazette notification relating to change of community at the time of certificate verification.
