18-39. Candidates should have been born between 02.01.1982 and 01.01.2003 (both dates included). (Including the relaxation as per para 2 (i) of General Conditions). Maximum age limit shall in no case exceed 50 (Fifty) years.

(1) Pass in SSLC or equivalent qualification. (2) Lower Grade Certificate in Malayalam Typewriting (KGTE) or equivalent. (3) Lower Grade Certificate in English Typewriting (KGTE) and Computer Word Processing or equivalent. (Certificates obtained from IAMC are not accepted). Those who have passed KGTE Typewriting English (Lower) before January 2002 should produce separate certificate in Computer Word Processing or equivalent qualification before the last date of receipt of application. (GO(MS)No.21/11/P&ARD dtd.01.07.11) All qualifications acquired before the last date fixed for receipt of application must be proved by producing certificates.

(i) Applications submitted by candidates belonging to the communities other than those included in this Notification will be summarily rejected. No rejection memo will be issued. (ii) Ranking list prepared as per this notification will remain in force until candidates are advised and appointed against all the vacancies earmarked for the communities remain unfilled due to paucity of candidates during the currency of the ranked list published as follows for the district: Kottayam - Ranked List published on 23.02.2021 (Cat. No. 282/2018) (iii) The selection in pursuance of this notification will be made on Revenue District basis. A person advised and appointed from a Ranked List prepared on District wise basis shall not be transferred to another district within five years from the date of commencement of service in the former district. But after five years, if transfer is allowed, such transfer will be subject to the rules in G.O.(P) No.36/91/P&ARD dated 02.12.1991. Candidates already in Government service in this department in any one district are not eligible to apply for this post. (iv) Advice for appointment will be made from the ranked list prepared for Headquarters vacancies also. Candidates advised from this list will be eligible for inter district transfer as per G.O.(P) No.442/80/GAD dated 26.09.1980. But since the selection under this notification is exclusively for Ex-servicemen, inter-departmental transfer will not be applicable as per G.O.(P) No.51/90/P&ARD dated 22.11.1990. (v) The caste/Non-Creamy Layer certificate produced by the candidates shall be produced along with the Gazette Notification in case of any discrepancy in SSLC book. (a) Certificates obtained from courses having a duration of not less than 3 months, conducted by Central/State Govt. departments, agencies, societies, universities will be accepted as equivalent to KGTE Computer Word Processing. (b) Ex-servicemen who have completed requisite service as Typist in Armed Forces are exempted from Malayalam Typewriting Lower qualification. But they should acquire the same before probation. (c) Ex-servicemen who have put in 15 years of service as Clerk (General Duty), Clerk (Staff Duty), Clerk (AOC), Personal Assistant, Writer, Clerk (General Duty) in Air Force, etc. in Class I category in Army are eligible to apply. (d) Ex-servicemen with 15 years service in Defense Forces as Clerk/Writer are considered as having requisite qualification for Typist. (e) As per G.O.(P) No.139/77/GAD dated 11.05.1977, those who studied Malayalam as second language in SSLC are exempted from Malayalam Typewriting Lower exam prior to probation. (f) Certificates obtained from Government institutions alone are accepted for Typewriting. (g) Equivalent qualifications must be supported by Government orders produced at One Time Verification. (h) KS&SSR Part II Rule 10 (a) (ii) is applicable.
