1) Direct Recruitment 2) Transfer from among any class, category or service.

1) Direct Recruitment: 18-36. Candidates born between 02.01.1986 and 01.01.2004 (both dates included) are eligible. Usual age relaxation is applicable to other backward communities, SC/ST, and ex-servicemen. Note: Maximum age limit shall in no case exceed 50 (Fifty) years. Refer to Part II General Conditions (Para 2) for special relaxations. 2) Transfer from among any class, category or service: Age limit is not applicable.

(1) Must have retired as Commissioned Officer in the rank of Junior Commissioned Officer or above in the Army, Navy or Air Force or equivalent rank. OR (2) In the absence of qualified candidates under item (1) above, must have completed 10 years of Military service in the Army, Navy or Air Force with capacity to read and write English. OR (3) In the absence of qualified candidates under items (1) and (2) above, must have passed SSLC or equivalent examination and must have obtained 10 years of Police service under the State Government or 6 months training in the Military. Note: (i) Proficiency in any one of the languages - Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada - is essential. (ii) Differently abled candidates are not eligible to apply for this post. Thus, paragraph 2 and paragraph 7, 5, 5(a) of the general conditions are not applicable to this post. Candidates must possess the following physical qualifications to be certified by a Medical Officer not below the rank of Civil Surgeon Grade-II at the time of interview: (a) (1) Height: 167 cm. (2) Chest: 81 cm with a minimum expansion of 5 cm. (For SC/ST candidates: Height 160 cm, Chest 76 cm, with minimum expansion of 5 cm). (b) Must possess the following eye sight with glasses: Right Eye: Distant Vision - 6/6 Snellen, Near Vision - 0.5 Snellen Left Eye: Distant Vision - 6/6 Snellen, Near Vision - 0.5 Snellen Each eye must have full vision. Colour blindness, squint, or any morbid conditions of the eyes or lids will be considered a disqualification. (c) Knock-knee, flat foot, varicose veins, bow legs, deformed limbs, irregular or protruding teeth, defective speech and hearing, and similar physical defects will be considered disqualifications.

1. KS&SSR Part II Rule 10 (a) (ii) is applicable for selection to this post. 2. Differently abled candidates are not eligible to apply for this post. 3. Applications submitted by candidates who are already in service in the same post in any district will be rejected.
