18-43. Only Candidates born between 02.01.1982 and 01.01.2007 (Both dates included) (Including the age relaxation as per para 2 (i) of the General Conditions.) Note:- For concessions allowed in upper age limit, subject to the condition that the maximum age limit shall in no case exceed 50 (Fifty) years, please see para 2 of the General Conditions under Part II of this Notification [Except para 2(i)]

1. A Degree in the concerned subject and BEd/BT in the concerned subject both conferred or recognized by the Universities in Kerala. 2. Must have passed the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K TET Category III) for this post conducted by the Government of Kerala. Note: The Degree/ Diploma awarded by UGC approved Universities or Institutions established through an act passed by Parliament/ State Legislative Assembly in accordance with the conditions laid down in GO(MS) No 526/PD dated 17.07.1965 are acceptable for appointment in Government Services. Exemptions : i. Candidates who have qualified C TET/NET/SET/M Phil/Ph D in the respective subjects and MEd in any subject are exempted from acquiring K TET [GO(P)No 145/16/GEdn dated 30.08.2016 and GO(P)No 206/16/GEdn dated 08.12.2016, GO(P)No 15/2020/GEdn dated 09.10.2020]. ii. C TET qualification can not be considered as an alternative qualification for K-TET Category III [GO(P) No 6/2024/ GEdn dated 01.02.2024] 3. i. Must have passed SSLC/ Plus Two/ Pre-Degree with Tamil as I or II Language OR ii. A pass in Degree or Post Graduation in Tamil Language. [In the absence of the qualifications referred in (i) & (ii) above, its equivalent shall also be considered [GO(P)No 166/16/GEdn dated 30.09.2016].

i. Separate Ranked Lists will be prepared for Idukki District for the above communities in pursuance of this notification. The Ranked List thus prepared and published by the commission shall remain in force until candidates are advised and appointed against the vacancies earmarked for the above communities, but remain unfilled due to the paucity of candidates during the currency of the Mother Ranked List published for the post in the following date in the following districts. ii. Candidates belonging to above reservation community shall submit application for the post to the above district, where the vacancy is existing and should note the name of the district against the relevant column of the online application. iii. The selection in pursuance of this notification will be made on a revenue district basis, subject to the special conditions laid down in GO (MS) No 154/71/PD dated 27.05.1971. A candidate advised for appointment in one revenue district from the Ranked List prepared is not eligible for transfer to another district unless he or she completes 5 years continuous service from the date of commencement of service in the former district. Even if transfer is allowed after five years, it will be subject to the rules in GO (P) No 36/91/P&ARD dated 02.12.1991. Candidates already in Government service holding this post in any one district are prohibited from applying again for this post, but they can apply to higher posts when notified. Note :- Applications submitted by candidates belonging to the community other than those notified will be summarily rejected. No rejection memo will be issued to such candidates. Note: i. The selection to this post is subject to the final judgement of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in SLP(C) Nos. 14935-14936 of 2022, 25190/2022,17666-17667 of 2022 and 28496/2023. ii. Must have graduated with Physics/Chemistry as main subject and also Chemistry/Physics as subsidiary subject [GO(MS)No 58/2019/GEdn dated 06.06.2019, GO(MS)No 73/2019/ GEdn dated 26.06.2019].Those who have completed graduation in Physics/Chemistry as main subject or subsidiary subject till 06.06.2019 and those who are studying the said course in the same manner on 06.06.2019 are exempted from the above condition [GO(MS)No 118/2019/GEdn dated 08.08.2019, GO(MS)No 128/2019/ GEdn dated 20.08.2019 ]. iii. Degree in Geology (Main) with Physics and Chemistry as subsidiary subjects with BEd Degree (Physical Science) can also be considered as an alternative qualification for the post [GO(MS) No 195/96/GEdn dated 02.07.1996]. iv. M Phil in the concerned subject be the one awarded by any of the Universities in Kerala or recognised as equivalent by any of the Universities in Kerala. v. Diploma in Rural Service awarded by the National Council for Rural Higher Education will also be treated as equivalent to Degree for the above purpose. vi. The candidates who have acquired BscEd in Physics-Chemistry-Mathematics stream conducted by the Regional Institute of Education in Mysore of NCERT are also eligible to apply for the post [GO(P)No 117/13/GEdn dated 30.03.2013]. vii. BSc (Polymer Chemistry) Degree with Physics as Subsidiary subject will be recognized as equivalent to BSc (Chemistry) and accepted as sufficient qualification for this post [GO(MS) No.120/2022/GEdn dated 07.07.2022]. viii. Candidates applying to the post should have sufficient knowledge in Tamil which will be tested at the time of Interview. Question papers for the written test, if any, will be in Tamil. The candidates should answer the question in Tamil. In the case of OMR answer scripts, answers are to be marked as instructed. ix. The disciplines in which graduation and post graduation were obtained should be mentioned in the application. x. Rule 10(a) ii of Part II of KS&SSR is applicable for this post. SPECIAL CONCESSIONS REGARDING APPOINTMENT AND AGE LIMIT: i. Preference will be given as laid down in GO(MS) No 50/70/PD dated 12.02.1970 and GO(MS) No 9/78/GEdn dated 21.01.1978 to the wives of Jawans in the matter of recruitment as Teachers, if they possess the prescribed qualifications. Soldiers in active service and those working in Base Establishment are included under the term 'Jawans'. Wives of Jawans should note in the application that they are wives of Jawans. Such candidates should obtain proper certificates from the Officer Commanding stating the name, military rank and military address of their husbands and produce the same as and when required by the Commission [GO(MS) No 509/64/Edn dated 19.09.1964, GO(MS) No 614/65/Edn dated 09.11.1965 and GO(MS) No 243/66/Edn dated 27.05.1966]. ii. First Class Scouts and Guides will be given preference in the matter of appointment as Teachers [GO(MS)No 50/70/PD dated 12.02.1970,GO(MS)No 122/75/GEdn dated 27.05.1975]. iii. Teachers of the Government Primary and Nursery Schools who are graduates and are otherwise qualified will be exempted from upper age limit . They should produce proper certificates from authorities concerned as and when required by the Commission [GO(MS)No 185/70/Edn dated 18.04.1970 and GO(MS) No 466/70/Edn dated 11.11.1970]. Note:- The candidates who are eligible for the above preferences or concessions in upper age limit or concessions by virtue of any of the reason mentioned in Para 2 of the General Condition should claim the same through the “weightage and preferences” link provided in their One Time Registration Profile and give details in the space provided. The applications of candidates who are eligible for concession in upper age limit and who do not claim the same, are liable to be rejected presuming that they are over aged candidates. Upper age limit after allowing the relaxation as per rule should not exceed 50 years of age (see para 2 of General Conditions).
