Direct Recruitment (Special Recruitment for Scheduled Tribes only).

20-45 Only Candidates born between 02.01.1979 and 01.01.2004 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post. No other age relaxation is applicable. Note:- In the absence of qualified candidates within the age limit the upper age limit shall be relaxed up to 50 years. But, in no case, the maximum age limit shall exceed 50 (Fifty) years.

I Masters Degree in the concerned subject with not less than 45% marks from any of the Universities in Kerala or a Qualification recognised as equivalent thereto in the respective subject by any University in Kerala. II (1) B.Ed in the concerned subject acquired after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognised as equivalent thereto by any University in Kerala. (2) In the absence of persons with B.Ed. Degree in concerned subject, B.Ed. degree acquired in the concerned faculty as specified in the Acts and Statutes of any of the Universities in Kerala. (3) In the absence of persons with B.Ed. Degree as specified in items (1) and (2) above, persons with B.Ed. Degree in any subject acquired after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognised as equivalent thereto by any of the Universities in Kerala. OR M.Sc.Ed in the concerned subject with not less than 45 percentage of mark from any of the Regional Institutes of Education sponsored by National Council for Education Research & Training (NCERT) III Must have passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of Higher Secondary School Teacher conducted by the Government of Kerala or by the Agency authorised by the State Government.

Note 1 :- Persons who have acquired M.Ed in the subject concerned recognized by any university in Kerala are exempted from B.Ed qualification. Note 2 :- a) Candidates who have acquired Non-qualifying degrees viz. Ph.D/M.Phil/Post Doctoral Fellowship will be awarded weightage marks provided that such non-qualifying degrees shall be in the subjects pertaining to the basic qualifications stipulated for the post .Weightage marks for non qualifying degrees for ranking will be awarded as detailed below: Non-Qualifying M.Phil - 2 Marks Non-Qualifying Ph.D - 4 Marks Both M.Phil & Ph.D (Non-Qualifying) - 5 Marks Post Doctoral Fellowship - 2 Marks b) Non-Qualifying degree means the additional qualifications which are earned apart from the qualifications insisted on as essential qualifications for the post. If Ph.D/M.Phil/Post Doctoral Fellowship is reckoned as necessary qualification for the post, weightage marks will not be awarded for it. c) Weightage marks will be awarded only to those non-qualifying degrees which are claimed in the application and which are acquired on or before the last date of receipt of applications. Note 3:- The Degrees /Diplomas awarded by UGC approved Universities or Institutions established through an Act passed by the Parliament/State Legislative Assembly in accordance with the conditions laid down in G.O(M.S) No. 526/PD dated 17.07.1965 are acceptable for appointment in Government Services. EXEMPTIONS 1) Those Persons who have passed the State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) for the post of College Lectures conducted by Government of Kerala are exempted from passing the State Eligibility Test (SET) for Higher Secondary School Teacher. 2) Those persons who have passed the National Eligibility Test (NET)/Junior Research Fellowship shall be exempted from passing the State Eligibility Test (SET). 3) Persons with Ph.D./M.Phil/M.Ed. Degree shall be exempted from passing the State Eligibility Test (SET), provided the M.Phil. in the concerned subject should be one awarded by any of the Universities in Kerala or recognised as equivalent thereto by any of the Universities in Kerala. 4) The teachers who have completed 10 (Ten) years of approved teaching service at the High School level in the General Education Subordinate Service shall be exempted from passing the State Eligibility test (SET) for Higher Secondary School Teacher. Note 4:- Higher Secondary School Teacher (Junior) means Part Time post of Higher Secondary School Teacher. Note 5:- (1) Rule 10(a)(ii) of part II of KS&SSR is applicable for this post. (2) In addition to the qualifications prescribed in the notification, the qualifications recognized by Executive Orders or Standing Orders of Government as equivalent to a qualification specified for a post, in the Special Rules or found acceptable by the Commission in cases where acceptance of equivalent qualifications is provided for in the rules and such of those qualifications which pre-suppose the acquisition of the lower qualification prescribed for the post, shall also be sufficient for the post. The copy of the Government orders declaring equivalent /higher qualifications shall be produced as and when required by the Commission.
