(23-40). Candidates should be born between 02.01.1982 and 01.01.1999 (both dates included). Usual age relaxation is applicable to SC/ST and other backward communities.

1) Post Graduate Degree in Chemistry with not less than 50% marks from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto. Note: SC/ST and Differently Abled candidates are eligible for 5% marks relaxation in Post Graduate Degree as per G.O.(Ms).No.288/15/Gl.Edn dated 13.11.2015. 2) i. B.Ed Degree in the concerned subject acquired after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto by any of the Universities in Kerala. ii. In the absence of persons with B.Ed Degree in the concerned subject, B.Ed Degree acquired in the concerned faculty as specified in the Acts and Statutes of any of the Universities in Kerala. iii. In the absence of persons with B.Ed Degree as specified in items (i) and (ii) above, persons with B.Ed Degree in any subject acquired after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto by any of the Universities in Kerala. iv. In the absence of persons with B.Ed Degree, candidates with Post Graduate Degree in the concerned subject with not less than 50% marks and who have passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates who have acquired Ph.D/M.Phil or qualified Junior Research Fellowship/National Eligibility Test. Teachers appointed under this provision will have to acquire B.Ed Degree at their own expense within 5 years from the date of entry into service. v. Candidates who have acquired M.Ed in the concerned subject recognized by any of the Universities in Kerala through a regular course of study are exempted from B.Ed qualification. 3) Must have passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of Non-Vocational Teacher conducted by Government of Kerala or by any agency authorized by the Government of Kerala.

1. Additional marks will be given for higher qualifications like Ph.D/M.Phil/Post Doctoral Fellowship in the concerned subject. Marks for non-qualifying higher qualifications for ranking: Non-qualifying M.Phil - 2 marks, Non-qualifying Ph.D - 4 marks, M.Phil & Ph.D (Non-qualifying) - 5 marks, Post Doctoral Fellowship - 2 marks. If Ph.D/M.Phil/Post Doctoral Fellowship is considered as basic qualification, no additional marks will be awarded. 2. In addition to the qualifications prescribed in this notification, qualifications declared as equivalent by the Government or the Commission will be accepted. 3. KS & SSR Part II Rule 10 a(ii) is applicable. Exemptions: 1) Candidates who have passed the State Level Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of College Lecturer conducted by the Government of Kerala are exempted from the SET requirement. 2) Candidates who have passed the SET for the post of HSST conducted by the Government of Kerala are exempted from the SET requirement. 3) Candidates who have passed the National Eligibility Test (NET) or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) are exempted from the SET requirement. 4) Candidates with Ph.D/M.Phil/M.Ed are exempted from the SET requirement, provided the M.Phil is in the concerned subject from a recognized University in Kerala or equivalent. 5) Candidates who have submitted Ph.D thesis or passed M.Phil are exempted from the SET requirement for the period UGC exempts them. Explanation: Non-Vocational Teacher (Junior) means a post where teaching is required for less than 15 periods per week. Probation: Persons appointed to this post will be on probation for a period of two years within a continuous service of three years.
