Candidates must have been born on or before 01.01.1999. The upper age limit is not applicable for By Transfer recruitment.

1. Post Graduate Degree in the concerned subject with not less than 50% marks from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto in the respective subject by any University in Kerala. 2. i) B.Ed Degree in the concerned subject acquired after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto by any University in Kerala. ii) In the absence of persons with B.Ed Degree in the concerned subject, B.Ed Degree acquired in the concerned faculty as specified in the Acts and Statutes of any of the Universities in Kerala. iii) In the absence of persons with B.Ed Degree as specified in items (i) and (ii) above, any B.Ed Degree acquired after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto by any of the Universities in Kerala. 3. Must have passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of Non-Vocational Teacher conducted by the Government of Kerala or by any agency authorized by the Government of Kerala in the concerned subject.

Note 1: Candidates who have acquired M.Ed degree recognized by any University in Kerala are exempted from B.Ed qualification. Note 2: Additional marks will be given for Ph.D/M.Phil/Post Doctoral Fellowship in the concerned subject as follows: M.Phil (2 marks), Ph.D (4 marks), M.Phil & Ph.D (5 marks), Post Doctoral Fellowship (2 marks). These additional qualifications are over and above the basic qualification. Note 3: In addition to the qualifications prescribed in this notification, qualifications declared as equivalent by the Government or Commission will be accepted. Note 4: KS & SSR Part II Rule 10 a(ii) is applicable. Exemptions: 1. Candidates who have passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of College Lecturer are exempted from SET. 2. Candidates who have passed the SET for the post of HSST are exempted from SET. 3. Candidates who have passed National Eligibility Test (NET) or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) are exempted from SET. 4. Candidates with Ph.D/M.Phil/M.Ed are exempted from SET, provided the M.Phil is from a recognized University in Kerala or equivalent. 5. Candidates who have submitted Ph.D thesis or passed M.Phil are exempted from SET for the period exempted by UGC. 6. SC/ST and differently-abled candidates are granted 5% marks relaxation for Post Graduate degree as per G.O.(Ms).No.288/15/Gl.Edn dated 13.11.2015. Probation: Candidates appointed to this post shall be on probation for a period of two years within a continuous service of three years. Clarification: Non-Vocational Teacher means a post where the incumbent has to teach 15 periods or more per week in each subject.
