Candidates must have been born on or before 01.01.1999. The upper age limit is not applicable for selection by transfer.

1. Masters Degree in Zoology/Botany with not less than 50% marks from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto in the respective subject by any of the Universities in Kerala. 2. i) B.Ed Degree in the concerned subject acquired after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto by any of the Universities in Kerala. ii) In the absence of persons with B.Ed Degree in the concerned subject, B.Ed Degree acquired in the concerned faculty as specified in the Acts and Statutes of any of the Universities in Kerala. iii) In the absence of persons with B.Ed Degree as specified in items (i) and (ii) above, any B.Ed Degree in any subject acquired after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto by any of the Universities in Kerala. 3. Must have passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of Non-Vocational Teacher conducted by Government of Kerala or by any agency authorized by the Government of Kerala in the concerned subject.

1. Candidates who have acquired M.Ed in the concerned subject recognized by any of the Universities in Kerala are exempted from B.Ed qualification. 2. Non-qualifying M.Phil/Ph.D/Post Doctoral Fellowship degrees in the concerned subject will be awarded additional marks as per the specified criteria. 3. Equivalent qualifications and higher qualifications will be accepted as per government orders. 4. KS & SSR Part II Rule 10 a(ii) is applicable. Exemptions: 1. Candidates who have passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of College Lecturer conducted by the Government of Kerala are exempted from the SET qualification. 2. Candidates who have passed the SET for the post of HSST conducted by the Government of Kerala are exempted from the SET qualification. 3. Candidates who have passed the National Eligibility Test (NET) or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) are exempted from the SET qualification. 4. Candidates who have acquired Ph.D/M.Phil/M.Ed are exempted from the SET qualification. 5. Candidates who have submitted Ph.D thesis or passed M.Phil are exempted from the SET qualification for the period as per UGC norms. 6. SC/ST and differently-abled candidates are eligible for 5% marks relaxation for Post Graduation as per G.O.(Ms).No.288/15/Gl.Edn dated 13.11.2015. Explanation: Non-Vocational Teacher means the post in which the incumbent has to teach 15 periods or more per week in the respective subject. Probation: Every person appointed to this post shall be on probation for a period of two years within a continuous service of three years.
