25-41. Candidates must be born between 02.01.1981 and 01.01.1997 (both dates included). In the absence of qualified candidates within the specified age limit, relaxation up to 50 years is allowed. However, under no circumstances shall it exceed 50 years.

Post Graduate Degree in History / Malayalam / Sanskrit / Archaeology / Museology from a recognized University or equivalent qualification. Note: a) Post Graduate Diploma in Archaeology from a recognized institution is a preferential qualification. b) Preferential: Published works in the above mentioned fields.

1) Degrees/Diplomas awarded by Universities/Institutions recognized by UGC or established by Parliament/State Legislature as per G.O(M.S) No. 526/PD dated 17.07.1965 are acceptable for government service. 2) Rule 10(a)(ii) of KS&SSR part II is applicable regarding qualifications. 3) In addition to the qualifications specified in this notification, higher qualifications or equivalent qualifications recognized by the Government or the Commission will be accepted. 4) If there is a difference in the caste recorded in the SSLC book, candidates must claim the correct caste in the application and produce the caste certificate issued by the concerned Revenue Authority and the relevant Gazette notification at the time of verification. Probation: Every person appointed to this post shall be on probation for a period of two years within a continuous period of three years from the date of joining. Training: The person appointed to this post shall be subject to training as prescribed by the Government from time to time. Applications from candidates not belonging to SC/ST will be rejected without notice. Candidates must submit the printout of the application for correspondence with the Commission. Applications found contrary to notification conditions at any stage will be rejected summarily. Original documents to prove educational qualification, experience, caste, age, etc., should be produced when required by the Commission.
