(i) Must have passed the SSLC Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Kerala or its equivalent. OR Must have passed the Pre-degree examination conducted by any of the Universities in Kerala or any examination recognized by any such Universities in Kerala as equivalent to Pre-degree examination. OR Must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examinations, Kerala or any other examination recognized by Government as equivalent thereto. (2) Must have passed the TTC Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Kerala. OR Must have passed a Degree in any subject and B.Ed/BT/LT conferred or recognized by the Universities in Kerala. Note: TTC qualification is now known as D.Ed (Diploma in Teacher Education) as per G.O(RT) No.3280/13/G.Edn dated 05.08.2013 and D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Teacher Education) as per G.O(RT) No.1700/18/G.Edn dated 05.05.2018 and G.O(RT) No. 2009/18/G.Edn dated 30.05.2018. Candidates possessing D.Ed or D.El.Ed qualifications as per these Government orders are eligible. (3) Must have passed the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K-TET) for this post conducted by the Government of Kerala. Exemption: 1. Candidates who have acquired CTET/NET/SET/M.Phil/Ph.D in the respective subjects and M.Ed in any subject are exempted from acquiring TET qualification (G.O.(P) No. 145/16/ G.Edn. dated 30.08.2016, G.O.(P)No. 206/16/G.Edn. dated 08.12.2016, G.O.(P)No.15/2020/ G.Edn. dated 09.10.2020). 2. As per the conditions in the Government Circular No. 1866829/J3/2017/G.Edn dated 09.03.2018, CTET will not be accepted as a substitute for KTET Category III and IV.

1. Candidates must be a Full Member or Approved Probationer in the Kerala General Education Subordinate Service as on the date of application. Must have not less than 5 years of service in the General Education Department in any of the posts: Clerk/Typist/Attender/Office Attendant/Full-time Menial. [G.O. (Ms) No. 8/09/G.Edn. dated 20.01.2009, 16.02.2021 - G.O. (Ms) No. 69/21/G.Edn]. 2. Candidates who have entered service before 31.03.2012 in the General Education Department as Clerk, Typist, Attender, Office Attendant/Full-time Menial are exempted from passing K-TET. 3. Candidates who have not studied Malayalam in Part I or Part II of SSLC or whose medium of instruction is not Malayalam are not eligible to apply. However, those who have studied Malayalam as a language through regular courses in Kerala at Degree/Post Graduate/Teacher Training levels are eligible to apply (G.O.(Rt) No.67/2018/G.Edn. dated 22.05.2018). 4. If a written (Descriptive/OMR) test is conducted, the question paper will be in Malayalam. Answers must be written in Malayalam only. 5. KS & SSR Part II Rule 10 (a) (ii) is applicable for this post.
