Direct Recruitment (Special Recruitment from Scheduled Tribes only).

23-45 (Candidates must be born between 02.01.1976 and 01.01.1998 (both dates included). Other concessions regarding age given in the existing rules are not applicable to this selection.) Note:- In the absence of qualified candidates within the age limit, the upper age limit shall be relaxed up to 50 years. However, under no circumstances the age shall exceed 50 years.

i Master's Degree in the concerned subject (Physics, Chemistry in which application is made) with not less than 45% marks from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized by any of the Universities in Kerala. ii 1) B.Ed Degree in the concerned subject acquired through regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized by any of the Universities in Kerala. 2) In the absence of candidates with B.Ed Degree in the concerned subject, B.Ed Degree acquired in the concerned Faculty from any of the Universities in Kerala (as specified in the Acts and Statutes of any of the Universities in Kerala). 3) In the absence of candidates having B.Ed Degree specified in item 1 and 2 above, B.Ed Degree in any subject acquired through regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized by any of the Universities in Kerala. iii Must have passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of Non Vocational Teacher conducted by Government of Kerala or by an Agency authorized by the Government of Kerala.

Note:- Candidates who have acquired M.Ed Degree in the concerned subject recognized by any of the Universities in Kerala are exempted from acquiring B.Ed qualification. Relaxations: 1. Candidates who have passed the State Level Eligibility Test for the post of College Lecturer conducted by Government of Kerala are exempted from passing the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of Non-Vocational Teacher. 2. Those who have passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of HSST are exempted from passing the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of Non-Vocational Teacher. 3. Those who have passed National Eligibility Test/Junior Research Fellowship are exempted from passing the State Eligibility Test. 4. Ph.D/M.Ed/M.Phil degree holders are exempted from passing the State Eligibility Test. But M.Phil degree must be in the concerned subject from any of the Universities in Kerala or recognized by any of the Universities in Kerala. 5. Those who have submitted Ph.D Thesis/passed M.Phil are exempted from SET for the period exempted by UGC from time to time. Explanation: Non-Vocational Teacher means a post teaching in each subject for fifteen periods or more per week. Probation:- Every person appointed to this post shall, from the date on which he joins duty be on probation for a total period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years.
